AU and Saint Gabriel’s College Forge a Path Toward Future Academic Excellence

Assumption University of Thailand (AU) and Saint Gabriel’s College strengthened their long-standing educational relationship during a recent academic collaboration visit held ahead of the upcoming 125th anniversary of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel’s arrival in Thailand.

The milestone anniversary, to be marked in 2026, honors the arrival of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel in Thailand on October 20, 1901, and celebrates nearly 125 years of dedicated service to Thai education. Today, the Saint Gabriel Foundation continues that mission through 14 educational institutions nationwide, with Assumption University of Thailand serving as its university-level institution and an important center for higher education, international learning, and academic development.

The AU delegation was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanintorn Jittawiriyanukoon, Vice President for Research and Academic Services and . He was joined by Dr. Modi Gillitwalla, MBA Program Director; Dr. Satha Phongsatha, Dean of Graduate School of Human Sciences; and Dr. Khongrit Chatpathomrak, Director of Thai Confucius Instituteat at Assumption University.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Rev. Bro. Dr. Surakit Srisrankulwong, Director of Saint Gabriel’s College, Provincial Superior of the Saint Gabriel Foundation, and President of the Saint Gabriel Education Network, together with Rev. Bro. Dr. Achin Tengtrakul, Deputy Director of Saint Gabriel’s College, and members of the school leadership team.

Discussions focused on future academic collaboration designed to support students from high school through university and graduate-level study. Key areas included bridging programs, master’s degree pathways, Chinese and French language proficiency development, study-abroad opportunities, and international academic programs that prepare students for success in an increasingly connected world.

The visit reflected the shared mission of Saint Gabriel’s College and Assumption University to advance educational excellence, strengthen global competencies, and create meaningful lifelong learning opportunities for students. As the Saint Gabriel educational family prepares to celebrate the upcoming 125th anniversary, the meeting also reaffirmed a shared commitment to service, academic purpose, and future-ready education.
