Assumption University to Host 40th IODA Conference in Bangkok

Global organization development leaders will gather at Assumption University this October for three days of ideas, exchange and action focused on building more sustainable organizations.
Assumption University of Thailand (AU) will welcome organization development practitioners, academics, leaders and change-makers from around the world for the 40th Annual International Organization Development Association (IODA) Conference, to be held October 15–17, 2026, at the University’s Hua Mak Campus in Bangkok.
Co-hosted by Assumption University and the International Organization Development Association (IODA), the milestone conference will explore the theme “OD for Sustainability: Wisdom, Adaptability, Innovation”
The three-day international gathering will examine how organizations can move beyond short-term approaches to change and embrace more sustainable, regenerative and people-centered ways of working.
Participants will take part in keynote presentations, concurrent sessions, synthesis dialogues, company visits, campus activities and cultural experiences designed to connect organization development theory with practice.
Three Days of Wisdom, Adaptability and Innovation
- Day 1 – Wisdom. The opening day will explore systems thinking, complexity, sustainability and regeneration, ethical leadership and reflective practice, grounding organization development in long-term thinking and values-driven decision-making.
Keynote Speaker: Ms. Jacqueline Wong, Founder & Senior Partner of the Sequoia Group and Dean of the Sustainability Institute, Singapore.
- Day 2 – Adaptability & Innovation. The second day turns to agility, resilience, inclusion and innovation, with practical approaches to navigating change, fostering continuous renewal and creating sustainable impact.
Keynote Speaker: Dr. Piti Tantakasem, Director & Chief Executive Officer, TMB Thanachart Bank Public Company Limited.
- Day 3 – Integration & Cultural Immersion. The final day will translate learning into practice through company visits, campus engagement and cultural experiences connecting OD theory with organizational realities and the local Thai context.
Four Decades of Global OD Exchange
Established in 1986, IODA grew from a group of organization development professionals from more than 13 countries who wanted a network that was genuinely global in outlook and values. Today, IODA is an international nonprofit network of OD professionals, consultants, practitioners, academics, students and social scientists from more than 50 countries.
IODA connects people across cultures and national boundaries to share ideas, methods and approaches to organizational and societal change. Its annual conferences are hosted in different countries, allowing participants to experience how organization development is understood and practiced within distinct cultural and historical settings.
The Bangkok gathering marks IODA’s 40th annual conference and places Assumption University at the center of an international conversation on the future of organizations, sustainability and regenerative practice.
Bangkok Welcomes the IODA Community
The conference will be held at Assumption University’s Hua Mak Campus, bringing an international professional community directly into the University’s academic environment. The provisional program includes keynote and concurrent sessions, synthesis discussions, networking opportunities, a gala dinner, company visits and cultural experiences.
Conference participation is limited to 100 participants. Registration is available in phases for IODA members, non-members and students, with payment processed through Assumption University.
