Saint Gabriel’s College welcomed Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, Ph.D., f.s.g., President of Assumption University of Thailand, together with AU executives and senior administrators, on Friday, July 10, 2026, for an academic collaboration meeting that strengthened the close relationship between two leading Gabrielite educational institutions.
The visit reflected the deep and enduring ties between Saint Gabriel’s College and Assumption University of Thailand, both shaped by the educational mission of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel. It was more than a formal meeting. It was a meaningful gathering of institutions with shared roots, shared values, and a shared commitment to forming young people for lives of purpose, leadership, and service.
The program began with a warm welcome for AU’s executive team in Martin Room 5. The Director of Saint Gabriel’s College offered welcoming remarks and expressed appreciation for the visit, which opened new opportunities to explore stronger academic cooperation between the two institutions.
Rev. Bro. Sirichai then addressed the gathering and shared the purpose of the meeting, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among institutions that share a common educational heritage and a long-standing commitment to excellence.
A central part of the morning focused on future academic cooperation. The Head of Academic Affairs presented proposed directions for collaboration, inviting discussion on how Saint Gabriel’s College and AU could work more closely to support students, strengthen academic pathways, and create new opportunities for learning and development.
Administrators and academic representatives from both institutions exchanged ideas on practical ways to connect secondary and higher education. The discussions reflected a shared belief that strong partnerships can help students see clearer pathways to university while supporting the wider mission of Gabrielite education in Thailand.
Participants later gathered for an official group photo near the football field, marking the visit as both a formal academic engagement and a family moment within the wider Montfortian tradition.
The program continued with refreshments and small group discussions in the meeting room on the third floor of the 80th Anniversary Building. These breakout sessions allowed representatives to share perspectives, discuss possible areas of cooperation, and present ideas that may help guide future collaboration.
The visit highlighted the strength of the relationship between Saint Gabriel’s College and AU. It also reflected AU’s continued commitment to working with leading schools in Thailand to promote academic excellence, student opportunity, and values-based education.
For Saint Gabriel’s College, the meeting affirmed its important role in preparing students for future academic success. For AU, it was an opportunity to honor shared heritage while building practical bridges for future generations of learners.
The program concluded with lunch, bringing the morning’s discussions to a warm and collegial close.
