Edith Cowan University (ECU) brought cutting-edge innovation to Assumption University of Thailand (AU) as Associate Professor Suku Sukunesan, Associate Dean at ECU, led an energizing session on harnessing artificial intelligence for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).





Discussions explored opportunities for joint research, academic programs, and future partnership initiatives. The highlight was an exclusive student session, “Supercharge Your SMEs with AI : Best Practice Sharing,” where Dr. Sukunesan blended academic insight with real-world expertise. With over two decades of leadership in both corporate and academic arenas—and hands-on experience with government projects, SMEs, and Southeast Asian policy initiatives—he delivered a practical, inspiring roadmap for weaving artificial intelligence into small and medium-sized business strategies.
Students left the session energised, having explored AI’s transformative potential through an interactive Q&A that bridged cutting-edge technology with entrepreneurial ambition. The day concluded over a networking lunch, reaffirming AU’s commitment to global collaboration and future-ready education.

About Associate Professor Suku Sukunesan
Associate Professor Suku Sukunesan, Associate Dean at ECU, is an authority in innovation, technology, and systems thinking, with more than 20 years of leadership experience in academia and industry. His career spans major government projects, SME collaborations, and advisory work with Southeast Asian governments, giving him rare insight into managing multi-stakeholder initiatives and shaping impactful policies. A prolific scholar with over 60 international publications and an H-index of 22, he also holds two patents and has secured multiple research grants. In the startup sphere, he is both a founder and a driving force, serving as a mentor, judge, and coach—championing the next generation of innovators.
