Assumption University of Thailand (AU) is delighted to host visiting students from the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (HU) for their Special Exchange Program, running from August 24 to November 3, 2026. This unique 12-week global journey spans five countries—Brazil, Japan, India, Indonesia, and for the very first time, Thailand.
To help our international students feel right at home, the program opened with an interactive 30-hour Thai language module. Guided by supportive AU student buddies, participants practiced conversational fundamentals through engaging role-play, building strong friendships right from day one.
The exchange itinerary seamlessly weaves together academic insights, regional community immersion, and local culture:
Immersion Visit: Visiting Assumption College Samutprakarn for delightful, hands-on Thai cooking and music sessions alongside enthusiastic ACS student buddies.
Experience Sharing: Participating in an inspiring session led by Dr. Chris Aurand centered on Open Space Innovation and active peer-to-peer exchange.
Cultural Excursion: Exploring the historic landscapes of Ayutthaya on the “Thailand Cultural Trail” bike tour.
Community Engagement: Connecting deeply with local tradition through hands-on workshops hosted by vibrant AU teams, including the AU Centre for Thai Culture, the AU Thai Classical Dance Group, and the AU Muay Thai Club.
