Assumption University of Thailand (AU) recently welcomed an ambitious group of students, faculty and staff members from Petra Christian University, one of Indonesia’s top private universities, for an enriching international excursion on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Led by Dr. Dwi Setiawan, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Creative Industries at Petra Christian University, the delegation was hosted by AAU’s PR Team and  Ms. Naphat Whaichana. Chairperson Department of Interior Architecture and  Design ( IAD ). The visit aimed to deepen students’ understanding of space planning, sustainability, and the artful integration of cultural elements in design.

The morning began with a warm welcome followed by an engaging lecture on “Multi Culture in Design,” emphasizing how cross-cultural perspectives enhance creative expression and functionality. A highlight of the day was a guided tour of AU’s iconic Chapel of Saint Louis Marie de Montfort, where students explored symbolic and aesthetic aspects of church architecture.

The visit concluded with a luncheon and lively conversation—cementing new friendships and academic ties between Thailand and Indonesia.

For AU, this visit exemplifies the spirit of academic exchange, where design transcends borders and dialogue sparks creativity.
