On Friday, September 18, 2026, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) warmly welcomed a delegation from Panyathip British International School (PBIS), Laos, and St Hugh’s College for an official visit to the University.
The visiting delegation was led by Ms. Pathana Panyathip, Executive President and Co-Founder and Founder of Panyathip British International School (PBIS) in Laos. She was joined by Mr. David Bant, Co-Founder, Vice President, and General Director; Mr. Hugh Evans, Pro Vice-Chancellor and former British Ambassador to Laos; and Ms. Krobkeaw Panyarachun, Strategic Communications and Marketing Advisory Partner.
Representing Assumption University were Asst. Prof. Dr. Kitti Phothikitti, Vice President for Educational Innovation and Graduate Studies; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanintorn Jittawiriyanukoon, Vice President for Research and Academic Services; Dr. Satha Phongsatha, Dean, Graduate School of Human Sciences; together with the Thai Director of the Confucius Institute at Assumption University, the Deputy Director of the Thai-Chinese International College (TCIC), and the Director of the Office of Graduate Studies (OGS).
During the meeting, representatives from the institutions exchanged perspectives on international education and discussed potential areas of academic cooperation. The discussions focused on opportunities to develop educational pathways, academic programs, student mobility, and other international initiatives that could broaden learning opportunities for students.
The visit also provided the delegation with an opportunity to learn more about AU’s international academic environment, programs, and global network, while both sides exchanged ideas on strengthening institutional connections and creating opportunities for future cooperation.
The visit reflects Assumption University’s continuing commitment to fostering international partnerships and expanding educational opportunities through meaningful collaboration with institutions in Thailand and across the region.
Assumption University looks forward to strengthening its relationship with PBIS and St Hugh’s College and to exploring further areas of academic and educational collaboration in the future.
