King Rama X Scholarship students returned to Wangklaikangwon School on September 4, 2026, to share their experiences and help Grade 12 students prepare for the next chapter of their education.
The peer guidance activity in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, brought together 28 recipients of The Honor of King Rama X Scholarship who are alumni of the school. They were accompanied by two Assumption University of Thailand (AU) representatives: Mr. Saharath Dowpiset, Director of the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, and Arjan Krisananan Kruawan, Advisor of the Financial Assistance Division, Student Affairs.
A total of 190 Mathayom 6 students participated in the program.
Returning to Where Their Journeys Began
Before the guidance session, the AU students paid a courtesy visit to the school’s deputy director and teachers. The deputy director offered advice on life direction and future planning, while the scholarship students presented gifts and souvenirs in appreciation of the encouragement they had received from the school.
The returning alumni also shared news of their academic progress and activities at AU, giving their former teachers a proud glimpse of how far they had come.
Learning, Leading and Serving
Throughout the past academic year, The Honor of King Rama X Scholarship students took active roles in university life. They congratulated graduating scholarship recipients, participated in AU’s Songkran celebrations and joined the University ceremony honoring the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua.
Students also served as liaison officers during the 33rd SEA Games, for which AU hosted three sporting events, and performed at AU Freshy Night.
Their leadership extended across the AU community through roles in the Assumption University Student Organization, student residences, academic organizations, the Dance Club, the Thai Dance Club and the University football team.
Beyond campus, the students organized art activities and donated essential supplies to the Camillian Home for Children Living with Disabilities in Lat Krabang. Several also gained professional experience through internships with organizations including TERAHOP, Disneyland and Chiva-Som Hua Hin Wellness Resort.
Advice From Those Who Have Been There
During the afternoon session, the scholarship students introduced Wangklaikangwon School students to AU’s academic programs, campuses, facilities, student activities and opportunities for professional growth.
More importantly, they spoke honestly about their own transition from school to university. Their firsthand accounts gave the younger students practical insight into choosing a program, adjusting to university life and making the most of opportunities beyond the classroom.
A quiz created by the scholarship students added some friendly competition to the session, with prizes and souvenirs awarded to participants. An open question-and-answer session then allowed the Grade 12 students to raise their concerns and receive advice from alumni who had recently faced many of the same decisions.
The activity strengthened the continuing relationship between Assumption University and Wangklaikangwon School while giving the scholarship students a meaningful opportunity to return, reconnect and give back.
For the younger students, it was guidance from people who understood the road ahead. For the returning alumni, it was a chance to show that opportunity carries with it the responsibility to help others move forward.
