The Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) advanced global healthcare education by hosting a dynamic two-day conference focused on cutting-edge simulation and transformative care.
The 1st INACSL Thailand RIG International Annual Conference and The 40th Anniversary of the School of Nursing Science, AUZ, was successfully held on May 23-24, 2026. Hosted at the Asia Airport Hotel in Pathumthai, Thailand, the landmark gathering centered on the theme “Revolutionizing Nursing Education: The Role of Technology and Simulation in Transformative Learning“.
A Milestone in Healthcare Education
The event began with an engaging Opening Ceremony featuring Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph. D., President of AU, alongside welcoming remarks from Asst. Prof. Dr. Onouma Thummapol, Dean of the School of Nursing Science. They were joined by international simulation leaders, including Dr. Werayuth Srithumsuk, Chair of INACSL Thailand RIG, and Professor Dr. Ashley Franklin, Immediate Past President of INACSL, who helped kick off the event and present the Simulation Awards.
Advancing Transformative Learning
Throughout the conference, attendees experienced a schedule designed to elevate healthcare education through emerging technologies. Keynote sessions explored the impact of artificial intelligence in higher education, generative AI for simulation, and innovative virtual reality applications.
The program brought together global experts from institutions such as the National University of Singapore and Teikyo University in Japan to share invaluable insights on disaster preparedness and advancing patient safety through gamification and authentic assessment. Furthermore, participants actively engaged in panel discussions on connecting health professionals and evaluating outcome-based learning, which were complemented by dedicated oral and poster research presentations across multiple rooms.
Starting Strong, Together
By uniting academic and technological experts in one collaborative setting, Assumption University of Thailand and its partners effectively helped educators prepare for the rapidly evolving future of healthcare training. The event marked a beautifully successful celebration of the School of Nursing Science’s 40th anniversary, setting the tone for an exciting new era shaped by learning, technological discovery, and shared purpose.
