Assumption University of Thailand (AU) gathered its faculty, academic leaders, deans, and university representatives for the AU Annual Faculty Seminar 2026, a full-day program that turned the phrase “future skills” into a practical conversation about teaching, learning, curriculum design, and the next chapter of university life.
Held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the John XXIII Conference Center, Suvarnabhumi Campus, the seminar was organized by Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts, Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design, Louis Nobiron School of Music and the Office of Human Resources Management under the theme “Future Skills of AU Educators.”
The day opened with a welcome address by the Master of Ceremonies, setting a collegial tone for a seminar built around shared responsibility and academic renewal.
A Strategic Message from the AU President
The morning’s central address was delivered by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of Assumption University of Thailand, who spoke on “Future Skills as a Strategic Imperative: Shaping the Next Chapter of Our University.” His address placed faculty development within AU’s broader institutional direction and framed future skills not as an optional enhancement, but as a strategic necessity for the University’s continued growth. AU sources identify Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D. as President of Assumption University of Thailand.
The message gave the seminar its clearest through line: the future of education will be shaped not only by technology or policy, but by educators who continue to adapt, collaborate, and lead with purpose.
Vice Presidents and Keynote Session Focused on Teaching Excellence
The program continued with a video presentation by AU Vice Presidents and a keynote talk on “Future Skills for Educators: Enhancing Teaching and Learning Excellence.”
This session highlighted the evolving role of AU educators in preparing students for a world where knowledge, creativity, adaptability, digital literacy, communication, and ethical judgment are increasingly connected. It also underscored the University’s continuing commitment to teaching excellence, student-centered learning, and academic quality.
Deans Helped Lead School-Based Collaboration
In the afternoon, the seminar shifted from presentation to participation through a workshop titled “Empowering Educators with Future–Ready Skills Through Academic Collaboration.”
The agenda placed deans at the center of the process, requesting them to facilitate school-based group discussions and submit their groups’ files for further review. That detail mattered. It made the seminar not only a listening exercise, but a working session with academic leadership directly involved in shaping recommendations.
Participants were divided into four future-focused groups:
Each group was asked to develop actionable plans for gathering insights on 21st-century skills and future-oriented curriculum design. The discussions emphasized multidisciplinary collaboration, practical recommendations, and the shared academic work needed to address emerging educational challenges.
A Faculty Community Looking Ahead Together
The strongest part of the seminar was its sense of collective purpose. Faculty members were not simply asked to attend; they were invited to contribute. Academic leaders were not simply listed on the program; they were asked to help guide the work. The result was a day that felt purposeful, timely, and genuinely connected to the future of AU.
The seminar concluded with closing remarks by the Master of Ceremonies, followed by the departure of AU coaches from Suvarnabhumi Campus to Hua Mak Campus.
Through the AU Annual Faculty Seminar 2026, AU reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence, future-ready teaching, and the educators whose work continues to shape generations of students.
