A Natural Catalyst: AU Alumna Activates Enzyme Science for the Next Generation

AU students explored real-world enzyme applications with industry insight from a distinguished alumna.

A Homecoming of Science and Industry

The Theophane Venard School of Food Biotechnology and Innovation at Assumption University of Thailand (AU)  warmly welcomed alumna and guest speaker Ms. Supamard Chooyim, Product Manager at Ward Medic, for a special academic lecture titled “Enzyme Application in Food, Medicine, and Biotechnology”.Held on 2 February 2026, the session brought together students from FT 3120 Protein and Enzyme Technology and BS 2020 Basic Microbiology, offering a rare opportunity to connect classroom knowledge with real-world industry practice.

Bridging Theory with Practice

Drawing from her professional experience in the medical and biotechnology sectors, Ms. Supamard shared practical insights into how enzymes are applied across food processing, pharmaceutical development, and modern biotechnological innovation. Her talk highlighted not only scientific principles, but also industry expectations, regulatory considerations, and emerging trends shaping enzyme-based solutions.

Students engaged actively throughout the session, gaining clarity on how foundational biochemical concepts translate into impactful, real-world applications—an essential perspective for future food technologists and biotechnologists.

Alumni Who Inspire

The lecture reflected the School’s strong commitment to alumni engagement and industry collaboration. By welcoming graduates back to campus as knowledge partners, the School continues to strengthen learning through lived experience, professional relevance, and mentorship.

The event concluded with warm appreciation for Ms. Supamard’s contribution, marking a proud moment where academic roots and professional success came together to inspire the next generation of scientists.

An Invitation to the Future

Arts Open House 2026 reaffirmed the School’s mission to nurture confident communicators, creative thinkers, and globally minded graduates, while demonstrating the power of teamwork behind meaningful educational experiences.

Prospective students and families were encouraged to explore academic programs and stay connected with future events through
