What happens when students from France, Germany, and the Netherlands meet Thai students to share languages, traditions, and stories? On 14 August, Assumption University (AU) and Saint Gabriel College created exactly that opportunity—a vibrant day of cross-cultural learning, cultural exchange, and international friendship. AU exchange students, visiting faculty members from Toyo University, Japan, and representatives from the Department of Business Chinese, Theodore Maria School of the Arts, came together at Saint Gabriel College, where a warm welcome set the stage for a day of learning that went far beyond the classroom.
The exchange began with language and cultural sharing, as AU exchange students and visiting professors introduced their languages and experiences, while Saint Gabriel students proudly shared Thailand’s heritage through Thai language tips, traditional Thai performances, and a special Muay Thai session at Raja Gym, hosted by Rajadhivas School. The activities created a lively two-way exchange, allowing students to discover new perspectives while celebrating their own traditions.
The day concluded with a meaningful postcard exchange, giving everyone a small keepsake of the connections made. More importantly, the experience showed how simple moments of sharing can build understanding, confidence, and friendship across cultures. Every participant contributed to a day shaped by curiosity, openness, and mutual respect.
