Assumption University of Thailand (AU) advanced its long-standing partnership with Chuzhou University, a leading applied sciences institution in Anhui Province, China known for its strong engineering research platforms and commitment to international education.

On November 18, 2025.The AU delegation, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanintorn Jittawiriyanukoon, Vice President for Research and Academic Services, and Dr. Gao Li, Assistant Vice President for Educational Innovation and Graduate Studies, joined by faculty heads and representatives from Assumption College Thonburi, was warmly welcomed by Zhou Xu, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Chuzhou University, Vice President Prof. Chen Guilin, and senior leadership.

Strengthening Joint Education Programs

In formal discussions, both universities reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing existing Sino–foreign joint education programs. Dr. Chanintorn highlighted AU’s recognition of Chuzhou University’s strengths in applied talent cultivation and its forward-looking international development strategy. He emphasized AU’s goal of upgrading the joint programs by introducing distinctive academic elements, quality assurance frameworks, and personalized overseas learning pathways.

The two institutions reached consensus on creating a new multidimensional, regularized, and innovative model of cooperation—one that not only elevates program quality but also expands academic mobility and improves student support mechanisms.

Chuzhou University’s Vision for Internationalization

Prof. Chen Guilin expressed Chuzhou University’s aspiration to deepen its global presence through high-impact partnerships. AU’s delegation echoed this ambition and proposed leveraging each university’s strengths to design programs that are more attractive, industry-relevant, and future-focused, particularly in fields where Chuzhou University excels, including engineering, geographic industry research, and applied sciences.

Seeing Strengths Firsthand

Following the meeting, the AU delegation toured several of Chuzhou University’s key research platforms, including major laboratories in the School of Geographic Industry and the School of Electrical Engineering. The visit offered valuable insights into the university’s robust engineering capabilities and laid a stronger foundation for precise, mutually beneficial collaboration moving forward.

This visit marks a significant step in AU’s mission to ensure high-quality Sino–foreign joint education. Moving ahead, both institutions aim to enrich their cooperation mechanisms, normalize faculty and student exchanges, and integrate educational resources more deeply—always keeping student development as the central priority.
