Mingalabar! A familiar greeting in Myanmar and the perfect way to welcome a group of Master’s and PhD students who visited Assumption University’s Suvarnabhumi Campus on October 30, 2026.
The visit brought together students from Myanmar and members of the AU community for a day of discovery, cultural exchange, and new friendships.
For the visiting scholars, it was an opportunity to experience university life in Thailand, explore AU’s academic facilities, and get a firsthand look at the international learning environment that brings students from around the world together.
Celebrating Our Friends in Myanmar
The occasion also highlighted AU’s connection with AU MIT Myanmar College, an affiliated higher education institution established in Yangon in 2018.
With its commitment to academic excellence, leadership development, entrepreneurship, and community service, AU MIT Myanmar College plays an important role in helping students pursue their educational ambitions and prepare for opportunities beyond national borders.
Its emphasis on developing knowledgeable, responsible, and service-minded graduates reflects educational values shared by both institutions.
At AU, we are delighted to celebrate these connections and recognize the dedication of students in Myanmar who continue to pursue higher education and broaden their horizons.
A Campus Full of Discoveries
During their visit, the students explored some of AU’s best-known landmarks, beginning with the magnificent Cathedral of Learning and the Cathedral of Learning Library.
The tour continued to the Chapel of St. Louis Marie de Montfort and the John Paul II Sports Center, offering a glimpse of the university’s architectural heritage, campus life, and recreational facilities.
The visitors also toured facilities at the Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME) and the Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science and Technology (VMES), learning more about the opportunities available across AU’s academic community.
New Friendships Across Borders
While the campus buildings certainly make an impression, the most meaningful part of any university visit is often the people.
Opportunities to meet fellow learners, exchange perspectives, and discover different educational environments can create friendships and connections that last long after the visit ends.
To our friends from Myanmar, thank you for visiting Assumption University!
We admire your commitment to learning and wish you every success in your academic journeys. We hope you return to AU again soon, whether to continue your studies, pursue new opportunities, or simply reconnect with friends.
