Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s Suvarnabhumi Campus earned national recognition for energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and responsible campus operations as it received the MEA Energy Awards 2025, Standard Level, a meaningful milestone in AU’s growing sustainability journey.
Presented through the Metropolitan Electricity Authority’s MEA Energy Awards 2025 program, the recognition honored buildings that demonstrated strong performance in energy management and indoor environmental quality. According to the official notification, AU’s participating building achieved a MEA Index score of 0.981 (MEA Index must not exceed 1.00), meeting the criteria for recognition in the university building category.
A Campus That Breathes Better and Thinks Greener
For Assumption University of Thailand, this recognition was more than an award certificate. It was a bright affirmation of the university’s continuing commitment to creating learning environments that are efficient, healthy, beautiful, and future-ready.
At Suvarnabhumi Campus, sustainability is not treated as a slogan tucked neatly into a strategic plan. It is part of the lived experience of the campus: the air students breathe, the spaces where faculty teach, the buildings where ideas are shared, and the daily operations that quietly shape a more responsible academic community.
The MEA Energy Awards recognition placed AU among institutions working to show that large educational campuses can be both inspiring and resource-conscious. In a time when universities are expected to model the values they teach, AU’s achievement offered a practical example of environmental responsibility in action.
Energy Efficiency with People at the Center
One of the most powerful details in the official result was the university’s Indoor Air Quality score must not exceed 1.00. In a campus setting, that number matters. It speaks directly to student well-being, staff comfort, classroom performance, and the quality of everyday academic life.
Clean, comfortable, well-managed indoor spaces help support concentration, collaboration, research, creativity, and community. For AU, the recognition showed that energy efficiency and human comfort do not need to compete. When done well, they can strengthen each other.
The MEA Index score of 0.981 further reflected the university’s strong performance in energy efficiency, demonstrating that responsible management can support both operational excellence and environmental care.
A Proud Moment for the AU Community
The award ceremony was held on April 27, 2026, at the KBank Siam Pic–Ganesha Center of Performing Arts, bringing together recognized organizations and building representatives committed to improving energy performance across Bangkok’s built environment.
For the AU community, the recognition offered a reason to celebrate quietly but proudly. It honored the people and systems behind the scenes: those who maintain campus facilities, monitor operations, support healthy spaces, and help ensure that the university’s physical environment reflects its educational mission.
It also strengthened AU’s role in Thailand’s broader sustainability conversation. As a university preparing future professionals, leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, and global citizens, AU continues to demonstrate that responsible stewardship begins at home, on campus, and in the everyday decisions that shape institutional life.
A Brighter Standard for the Future
The MEA Energy Awards 2025 recognition affirmed that AU’s Suvarnabhumi Campus is not only a place of learning, but also a living example of how academic institutions can move toward a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable future.
It was a proud green milestone for AU and a reminder that sustainability is built through consistent choices: how buildings are managed, how resources are used, how people are cared for, and how the next generation is prepared to lead with both intelligence and conscience.
At AU, the future is not only being taught. It is being powered responsibly.
