AU Steps Up to Make Sports Safer for Girls

Great coaches do more than teach athletes to win. They build confidence, encourage teamwork and make sure everyone feels welcome on the playing field. That winning philosophy took center stage when Assumption University of Thailand (AU) joined a special coaching workshop in Bangkok.

Held on October 18, 2026, at SCBX Next Stage @ NextTech, Siam Paragon, the Girls Positive & Safe Coaching Pathway – Thailand: Coach Development Workshop 2026 brought sports professionals together to explore how better coaching can create safer, more supportive experiences for girls and young women.

Representing AU, Ajarn Kasikrit Mantasoot, Director of the Center for Sports and Physical Fitness (CSPF), Student Affairs, led a delegation of university staff and sports coaches eager to learn, share ideas and bring fresh perspectives back to campus.

Adding to AU’s contribution, Ajarn Chanya Charoenmit stepped into the spotlight as a workshop speaker, sharing professional knowledge and practical experience with fellow participants.

The discussions went well beyond scoring goals and winning matches. Participants explored important issues including safeguarding, body confidence, hate speech and ways to create sporting spaces where young athletes feel respected, encouraged and free to reach their potential.

For AU, the workshop offered another opportunity to champion student well-being while supporting the professional development of its coaching team.

After all, the best coaches don’t just develop better athletes. They help build stronger, more confident people. And that’s a win worth celebrating!
