Global Skills Thailand 2026 Brings Culture, Business and Collaboration to AU

Assumption University of Thailand (AU) welcomed students from seven countries for Global Skills Thailand 2026, a two-week international summer program designed to deepen cross-cultural understanding, business learning, and global collaboration.

Co-hosted with the Wilson College of Business and the University of Northern Iowa, USA., the program began May 18th and will run to May 29, 2026, bringing together students from international partner institutions, including Ateneo de Davao University, Christ University, and Hong Kong Baptist University.

The initiative grew from the Network of International Business Schools through AU ’s Graduate School of Business, beginning in 2024. The collaboration was further strengthened when the two universities signed a formal agreement in March 2025, paving the way for new forms of international learning.

Over two weeks in Bangkok, students explored the intersection of culture, business, and global citizenship through immersive activities, company visits, and cultural experiences. The program included Thai cooking, a Thai language and culture workshop led by Ajarn Nanta Thongtaweewattana, General Education Department, Theodore Maria School of Arts and a Muay Thai workshop conducted by the AU Muay Thai Club.

Participants also received opportunities to learn from leading organizations and cultural institutions, including business-sector visits, the Bureau of the Royal Household, Wat Phra Chetuphon, and Wat Saket, giving students a meaningful window into Thailand’s living traditions, institutional heritage, and contemporary business environment.

Chris Schrage noted that students had gained meaningful insights, were amazed by Thai culture, and were excited to continue engaging in the remaining parts of the program.

Through its blend of academic exchange, cultural immersion, and professional exposure, Global Skills Thailand 2026 reflected AU ’s commitment to international education and the development of students who can collaborate effectively across cultures.

More updates and highlights from Global Skills Thailand 2026 will be shared through AU’s news and social media channels.
