AU Strengthened Teaching Excellence Through UKPSF Talk

AU faculty explored global teaching standards through a special professional development talk.

The Office of Policy, Planning and Quality Assurance (OPPQA) under the Office of Academic Affairs hosted “Special Talk, UKPSF by ADVANCE-HE” on May 21, 2026 at Seminar Room Hua Mak Campus, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) . The session was organized as part of AU’s continuing efforts to support academic quality, faculty development, and internationally aligned teaching practice.

A Meaningful Step Toward Teaching Excellence

The special talk, conducted by Mr. Daniel Sheratte from Advance HE, introduced participants to the UK Professional Standards Framework, widely known as (UK)PSF, and its relevance to higher education teaching, learning, and professional recognition.

For AU faculty members, the session offered an opportunity to reflect on how teaching practice could be strengthened through a recognized international framework. It also supported AU’s broader commitment to quality assurance, academic development, and student-centered learning.

Connecting AU Faculty with Global Practice

The talk highlighted how professional standards can help educators think more deeply about their roles as teachers, mentors, curriculum designers, and learning facilitators.

By engaging with the PSF through Advance HE, participants were encouraged to consider how evidence-based teaching, reflective practice, and professional development could contribute to stronger learning experiences for students.

Supporting a Culture of Quality

OPPQA played an important role in bringing the session to AU’s academic community. Through activities, such as this special talk, the office continued to support AU’s quality culture by creating space for faculty members to engage with international standards and best practices. The event also reflected AU’s ongoing commitment to helping educators grow professionally while strengthening the multicultural and academic environment for students.

Building Confidence Through Professional Recognition

The UKPSF framework provides a useful pathway for educators to examine their teaching practice and connect it with professional benchmarks in higher education.

For AU, the session helped reinforce the value of continuous improvement, reflective teaching, and global academic engagement. It also gave faculty members a clearer understanding of how international frameworks can support both personal professional growth and institutional quality.

Advancing Learning, One Classroom at a Time

The Special Talk by Mr. Sheratte from ADVANCE-HE marked another meaningful step in AU’s continuing work to strengthen teaching and learning. By connecting faculty development with international standards, the session helped encourage a culture where academic quality, professional recognition, and student success move forward together.
