Lessons From the Table Tennis Championships

Staff members from the Center for  Sports and Physical Fitness, Student Affairs at Assumption University of Thailand (AU)  participated in a professional study visit to the SET Table Tennis Club Championships 2026 on April 24, 2026, at Westgate Hall, Central Westgate, Nonthaburi.

Organized under the Table Tennis Association of Thailand, the SET Table Tennis Club Championships 2026 was the national club team championship for table tennis in Thailand. The competition was held from April 22 to 30, 2026, at Westgate Hall, Central Westgate, bringing together club teams and table tennis athletes for one of the country’s key national-level competitions.

The study visit offered AU’s sports professionals a valuable opportunity to observe the planning and delivery of a major sporting event. Staff gained firsthand insights into competition management, venue operations, tournament systems, athlete coordination, technical preparation, and participant services.

Learning From a National Competition

At the championship venue, AU staff observed how a large-scale tournament was structured and managed, from registration flow and match scheduling to venue setup, competition areas, support services, and overall event coordination.

The team also exchanged knowledge and professional experiences with the Vice President of the Table Tennis Association of Thailand, gaining further perspective on national sporting standards and the operational expectations behind competitive table tennis events in Thailand.

The visit served as a meaningful bridge between university-based sports management and the broader professional sports community. It also reflected the Sports Center’s commitment to continuous learning, practical benchmarking, and the development of stronger university sports programming.

Raising the Standard of University Sports

For AU, sports activities remain an important part of holistic student development. They promote discipline, teamwork, resilience, leadership, and community spirit, qualities that extend well beyond the playing field.

By engaging directly with a national-level sporting event, AU Sports Center staff strengthened the knowledge and capacity needed to organize high-quality sports activities for students, faculty, staff, and the wider university community.

The initiative marked an important step in enhancing staff capability and applying best practices to further develop the quality, efficiency, and professional standards of sports events organized by the university in the future.

Through this study visit, AU reaffirmed its commitment to professional development, student engagement, and excellence in every aspect of campus life.
