From Teacher to Researcher: Turning Classroom Problems into Publishable Research

On March 18, 2026, the Theodore Maria School of Arts at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) successfully organized a research training workshop titled From Teacher to Researcher: Turning Classroom Problems into Publishable Research, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Mintra Puripunyavanich.

The workshop was designed to help educators bridge the gap between teaching practice and academic research by showing how everyday classroom challenges could be transformed into meaningful and publishable studies. Through a practical and engaging session, Assistant Professor Dr. Mintra guided participants through the key stages of the research process, from identifying researchable problems and formulating effective research questions to selecting appropriate methodologies and preparing studies for publication.

Throughout the training, participants took part in discussions and hands-on activities that strengthened their understanding of classroom-based research. The workshop also underscored the value of reflective teaching practices, encouraging educators to see their classrooms not only as places of instruction, but also as rich environments for scholarly inquiry.

The session offered valuable insights into how faculty members could strengthen their research skills and contribute more actively to academic publishing. It also reflected the School  of Arts’ ongoing commitment to building a stronger research culture and supporting professional growth among its educators.

Participants expressed appreciation for the workshop’s practical strategies, clear guidance, and direct relevance to their teaching responsibilities. Many noted that the training helped make the research process feel more accessible and achievable.

This initiative marked another positive step in supporting faculty members on their journey from dedicated practitioners to active contributors in the academic research community.
