AU Council Meets to Guide the University’s Future

Assumption University of Thailand leadership convened on February 26, 2026.


Bangkok, Thailand – On February 26, 2026, the University Council of Assumption University of Thailand (AU) convened its 3rd meeting of the 2025 academic year to deliberate and approve strategic initiatives aimed at driving the University’s future growth. The meeting was chaired by Rev. Bro. Surakit Srisarankulwong,f.s.g., Ph. D.,  Chairman of the University Council, and attended by distinguished council members and key university executives.

During the session, Rev. Bro Surakit Srisarankulwong , f.s.g.,Ph.D.,emphasized the critical importance of integrating Digital Technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the University’s administrative and academic frameworks. This forward-looking vision is designed to elevate AU’s educational competitiveness, ensuring it aligns with the demands of the modern world and prepares students to thrive in the global workforce.

In addition to this technology-driven vision, the University Council officially approved several landmark projects and policies focused on internationalization and good governance. Key resolutions include:

    • Educational Innovation: The approval of 17 new short-term, non-degree programs tailored specifically for international students. This initiative supports lifelong learning and significantly boosts the University’s commercial competitiveness in the global education market.
    • Global Networking: The endorsement of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for academic and research collaboration with leading academic institutions across India, the United Kingdom, Italy, and the United States.
    • Employee Welfare Enhancement: The amendment of the University’s Human Resources regulations to extend maternity leave to 120 days. This update aligns with Thailand’s latest Labor Protection Act and reflects AU’s strong commitment to the well-being and quality of life of its personnel.

Furthermore, the Council reviewed updates on the University’s 5-Year Strategic Plan (2023-2027) and the annual risk management report, ensuring that AU continues on a steady path of sustainable growth, stability, and academic excellence.

In closing, the decisive actions taken during this Council meeting mark a significant milestone in AU’s journey toward digital transformation and global prominence. Guided by the visionary leadership of the Council Members, AU remains deeply committed to empowering the next generation of leaders.
