Assumption University of Thailand (AU) proudly hosted the 9th Private Higher Education Institutions Sports Friendship on Saturday, August 9, 2025, under the vibrant theme “Friendship Beyond Victory.” The event brought together athletes, educators, and supporters from institutions across Thailand in a celebration of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and unity.
Held at the John Paul II Sports Center, Suvarnabhumi Campus, the event was organized by Center for Sports and Physical Fitness, Student Affairs, in collaboration with the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions of Thailand (APHEIT).
The day kicked off at 8.45 a.m. with an inspiring opening ceremony, graced by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of AU, and Acting Sub Lt. Dr. Yutthana Suwannatar, Vice President for Student Affairs. Their opening remarks highlighted the value of sports in building lasting connections across institutions.
After the flag parade and warm opening speeches, participants engaged in friendly but spirited competitions across multiple sports disciplines.
🏃 Sports with Spirit
From football and volleyball to tug-of-war and team relays, the focus remained on inclusivity, teamwork, and fun. Athletes showcased not only their athletic ability but also the values of respect and fair play.
🎖️ Evening Celebration & Awards
The evening program at John 23 Conference Center featured an elegant dinner, cultural performances, a team-bonding quiz game, and the medal presentation ceremony. The night ended on a high note with a festive gathering filled with laughter and new friendships.
AU extends heartfelt thanks to all participants, volunteers, and supporters who made the event a resounding success. In the words of the day—Friendship truly goes beyond victory.
