UNSTOPPABLE VISIONARIES: Trinity Western University and Dr. Philip Laird Inspire AU’s Next Generation of Global Leaders

The visit marked a significant milestone in the partnership between the two institutions. Discussions on collaboration began in 2024, and during Dr. Laird’s visit to AU in May 2025, the first institutional-level academic partnership between TWU and a Thai university was formalized. With a shared vision of meaningful, globally minded education, the collaboration sets the stage for innovative programs and joint initiatives that transcend borders.

Located in Langley, British Columbia, Trinity Western University is Canada’s premier Christian university of the arts, sciences, and professions. With three Canada Research Chairs and a top national ranking for educational experience, TWU is dedicated to cultivating global leaders of character, purpose, and competence.

The day kicked off with a powerful workshop titled “UNSTOPPABLE: From Thailand to the World – Leading with AI & EQ in the New Economy.” Far from dwelling on fears of AI replacement, Dr. Laird encouraged participants to embrace the “fifth intelligence”—a blend of empathy, ethics, and adaptability. He explored how human uniqueness, paired with smart AI integration, can help leaders overcome biological limits and thrive in a digitally accelerated world.

In the afternoon, Dr. Laird toured AU’s Suvarnabhumi Campus, including highlights such as the Saint Louis Marie de Montfort Chapel, a student-led musical welcome at the School of Music, and visits to the CA Studio, Engineering Computer Lab, and Aircraft Maintenance Facilities. He also held meaningful discussions with AU leadership, including the Dean of Communication Arts, Dean and Associate Dean of MSME Business School, and the Director of International Relations.

As the sun set on a memorable day, it was clear that Assumption University and Trinity Western University are united by a mission: to shape the next generation of thoughtful, ethical, and unstoppable leaders. And this is just the beginning.
