Bangkok, Thailand — In a proud moment for Thai higher education and science, Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology has been selected to represent the nation at the prestigious World Expo 2025 Thailand Pavilion in Osaka, Japan. Its signature product, the Rice Bio Drink, will be showcased, standing alongside Thailand’s most impactful innovations.
This announcement was made during the press conference “NRCT Talk: Innovation Thailand Opens Thailand’s Future at World Expo 2025” held on May 24, 2025, at the National Science, Research and Innovation Information Center. Hosted by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and presided over by Dr. Wipharat Di-ong, the event introduced key products selected to symbolize Thailand’s innovation power at the world stage.
The Rice Bio Drink, developed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Patchanee Yasurin and her team in partnership with Innovative Pharma Herbs Co., Ltd., transforms Thai rice into a health-focused beverage through advanced fermentation techniques. This innovative drink not only promotes wellness and sustainability but reflects AU’s dedication to real-world applications of science and its commitment to community impact.

Held under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” World Expo 2025 takes place from April to October 2025, attracting over 28 million visitors from around the globe.
