Team Bee the Change showcased a stingless bee honey toner pad at the GSB Yuwapat Rakthin Project 2026 Closing Ceremony, connecting community knowledge with product innovation, finance, packaging and digital marketing.
Assumption University of Thailand (AU) students turned local wisdom into market-ready innovation at the GSB Yuwapat Rakthin Project 2026 Closing Ceremony, where Team Bee the Change presented MELIBEE Stingless Bee Honey Toner Pad and showed how a community resource could be developed into a stronger business proposition.
The team’s work brought together product innovation, financial analysis, creative packaging and digital marketing. Rather than treating the project as a classroom exercise, the students worked from a real community context and built a concept designed to strengthen commercial potential while keeping local knowledge at the center.
The presentation also highlighted the partnership with the Bang Nam Phueng community and the Government Savings Bank, whose support helped connect students, faculty members and community partners around a shared goal: turning ideas into opportunities that can last.
Dean’s Message Connects Business with Purpose
Dr. Chainarong Rungruengarporn, Dean of the Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME Business School), joined the closing ceremony and addressed the students with an encouraging message about taking business knowledge beyond the classroom and using it with purpose.
His remarks gave the occasion an added lift, recognizing the value of practical learning and the responsibility that comes with turning business ideas into real benefits for communities. The message matched the spirit of Team Bee the Change: think commercially, work collaboratively and build something that matters.
For MSME Business School, the project placed experiential business education firmly in the spotlight. Students had to connect several disciplines at once: understanding a product, reading its commercial potential, considering costs and pricing, shaping packaging, and communicating value through digital channels.
That mix of analysis and creativity reflected the kind of applied learning the School has continued to promote. The MELIBEE project gave students a chance to test business thinking against real needs, while community partners gained fresh ideas for product development and market access.
Background
The GSB Yuwapat Rakthin Project is a collaboration between the Government Savings Bank and higher education institutions that brings university knowledge together with local wisdom and community resources. Its broader purpose is to help strengthen community enterprises, create added value for products and services, and give students direct experience working on real economic and social challenges.
Assumption University has participated in the initiative since 2021. Previous AU projects have paired MSME students and faculty members with community enterprises to improve products, services, branding, distribution and business capability. The 2026 closing ceremony continued that record of community-based learning, with MELIBEE providing a clear example of how a small local resource can become the starting point for a bigger business idea.
From Classroom Learning to Community Opportunity
Team Bee the Change’s presentation captured the central idea behind the project: business education becomes more meaningful when students can apply it, test it and see who benefits from it.
Assumption University extended its appreciation to the Government Savings Bank, the Bang Nam Phueng community, faculty members and students whose work made the project possible. Small bees, big ideas and one practical reminder: opportunities can start locally and still travel far.
