SIMBA Puts Human Judgment at the Heart of AI

Artificial intelligence may be fast, but good judgment still matters.

That was the message at Assumption University’s Hua Mak Campus on September 22, 2026, as participants joined “Think, Prompt, Verify: SIMBA Major in 30 Minutes” a seminar exploring how technology, analytics and critical thinking come together in the classroom.

Beyond the Prompt

The session offered a closer look at Smart Integration in Management and Business Analytics (SIMBA), where digital literacy goes hand in hand with the very human ability to question, evaluate and make informed decisions.

In an age when AI can generate an answer in seconds, the SIMBA approach encouraged students to ask an equally important question: Is that answer actually right?

Rather than treating automated results as the final word, participants were encouraged to examine information carefully, question assumptions and verify outputs before putting them to use.

It was a simple lesson with growing importance for students preparing to enter workplaces where artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making are becoming part of everyday business.

Think, Prompt, Verify

The seminar’s title captured the process neatly.

Think about the problem. Prompt technology effectively. Then verify what comes back.

That final step placed human judgment firmly back in the driver’s seat.

Digital tools may help students work faster, explore more information and spot patterns, but responsible use requires the ability to distinguish a useful answer from an inaccurate, incomplete or misleading one.

For SIMBA students, that means developing technical confidence without losing curiosity, skepticism or independent thought.

Smarter Tools Need Smarter Users

The discussion also reflected a broader question facing universities around the world: What skills will students need when powerful digital tools are available to almost everyone?

For SIMBA, the answer is not simply learning how to use the tools. It is learning how to use them well.

Combining business analytics with critical thinking gives students an opportunity to understand not only what technology can do, but when its results should be questioned, checked and interpreted.

That distinction is increasingly important for future managers and business leaders who will be expected to make decisions based on data while remaining accountable for those decisions.

Human Thinking Still Counts

“Think, Prompt, Verify” turned a 30-minute introduction to SIMBA into a timely reminder that technology works best when people remain actively involved.

The tools may keep getting smarter.

SIMBA is making sure its students do, too.

About SIMBA

Assumption University’s Smart Integration in Management and Business Analytics (SIMBA) program combines business education with technology and analytics, preparing students for careers in increasingly digital industries. The accelerated pathway allows students to complete a bachelor’s degree in three years followed by a master’s degree in one year, with additional international study and double-degree options available.
