With profound sadness, The Assumption community gathered for the funeral of Rev. Bro. Simeon Anupatt Petchara-Yuttachai, the Great Professor of the Order of Saint Gabriel, on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Assumption College Sriracha campus hosted a poignant ceremony, to honor the remarkable legacy of Rev. Bro. Simeon. Rev. Bro. Dr. Pisutr Vapiso, Director of Assumption College Sriracha, brought together the Montfort Brothers, including the notable presence of Rev. Bro. Dr. Dechachai Sripichan, Chairman of the Assumption University Council and the Provincial Superior of the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, Province of Thailand.

This ceremony was a testament to the unity of the Assumption community and the enduring impact of Rev. Bro. Simeon’s work. Faculty, students, alumni, and distinguished guests came together in a shared expression of gratitude for a life that has left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of many.

In a heartfelt display of royal benevolence, His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana of Thailand have not only bestowed beautiful funeral wreaths in yellow and purple to honor the late Rev. Bro. Simeon Claude Petiteau f.s.g., a Great Professor of the Order of Saint Gabriel, but also generously granted a burial ground for him. This significant gesture was part of the funeral ceremonies held yesterday, marking an extraordinary honor that underscores the recognition by the Royal Family for Rev. Bro. Simeon’s contributions to education and his service to the community.
