Meet Mr. Pang Hanchen, affectionately known as 'B.B' or 'Big Black,' an inspiring individual whose journey from Szechuan, China, to our vibrant campus in Thailand is nothing short of extraordinary.
Mr. Pang's academic voyage began at Yunnan Agricultural University, where he found his love for languages and hip-hop literature. His master's research on translating hip-hop works ignited a fire within him to explore this expressive art form further.
After gaining valuable experience as an interpreter for two years, Mr. Pang set his sights on a grand academic pursuit - a Ph.D. in English Language Teaching (ELT). Assumption University became his choice destination, opening doors to an exciting and rewarding future.
"Why Thailand?" you may ask. Mr. Pang's parents, recognizing the allure of this land, recommended it for its delectable cuisine, inviting weather, and affordability. Little did he know that Thailand would soon become a second home, offering him a warm and supportive environment.
Embracing the challenges of a Ph.D. journey, Mr. Pang remains steadfast in his pursuit of knowledge. While the path may have moments of homesickness, he is determined to seize each opportunity for growth and self-discovery.
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Pang's passions come alive. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he reminisces about the thrill of owning four bikes in China. Dance also holds a special place in his heart, with 17 years of experience in various styles, including hip-hop, popping, breaking, and swing. KRS1, the hip-hop icon, remains a source of inspiration for his captivating dance moves.
Exploring the wonders of Thailand is also an essential part of Mr. Pang's experience. Navigating the city using the BTS and MRT systems, he immerses himself in the vibrant local culture, making unforgettable memories along the way.
