Assumption University of Thailand (AU) was a showcase of international diversity with the "THE MOSAIC OF CULTURES 2024" event on February 28th at the King’s Court. Organized by the Assumption University Myanmar Students Community (AUMSC), the evening featured vibrant dance performances and role plays that represented Myanmar, Chinese, Thai, South Asian, and Cambodian cultures.

Project Coordinator Zaw Ye Htet shared, "This event is a testament to the power of cultural exchange. It's more than just an evening of entertainment; it's a month-long journey of sharing, learning, and celebrating the rich tapestry of our international student body."

The event marked the culmination of a series of cultural exchanges that began on February 1st, including Language Exchange, Handicraft Exchange, and Cooking Exchange programs, all aiming to deepen the cultural understanding among AU students.

The enthusiasm of the crowd of about 1,200 people was palpable, with the energy reaching a fever pitch as performances unfolded on stage. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by a variety of food stalls and game booths, offering authentic tastes and interactive experiences from the featured cultures.

Rev. Bro. Dr. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus of Assumption University, addressed the audience with inspiring words: "Tonight, we witness the beauty of what happens when different cultures come together. 'The Mosaic of Cultures' is a celebration of this beauty, reminding us that our differences are not just to be tolerated, but wholeheartedly embraced."

Looking ahead, Zaw Ye Htet encourages students to get involved, especially as AUMSC prepares for its presidential election at the end of March: "If you’re passionate about creating vibrant, inclusive communities, join us. Your contribution can make the next 'Mosaic of Cultures' even more splendid."

Assumption University continues to champion these intercultural initiatives, fostering an environment where diversity is not only celebrated but also instrumental in the educational experience.
