In a serene celebration rich with tradition, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) honored the Anniversary of the Chapel of St. Louis Marie de Montfort on April 26^th, 2024 at the Suvarnabhumi campus. The event celebrated the spiritual influence and the legacy of devotion fostered by St. Louis Marie de Montfort, which continues to inspire the university’s community more than three hundred years after his death.

The commemorative day began with the arrival of His Eminence Cardinal Francis Xavier Kriengsak Kovithavanij, Archbishop of Bangkok, who presided over the Holy Mass at the chapel. The service underscored the saint’s lasting message and his motto "God Alone" which is central to the university's ethos. The ceremony was further blessed by the presence of AU President Emeritus, Rev. Bro. Martin Prathip Komolmas.

A luncheon reception at the John XXIII Conference Center followed the mass, offering a moment of congregation and contemplation for faculty, staff, students, and guests. In his remarks, Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, President-Rector Magnificus of AU, encapsulated the essence of the celebration.

"In the spirit of 'God Alone,' which St. Louis Marie de Montfort so fervently lived by, we gather today to celebrate the anniversary of this sacred space dedicated in his name," stated AU President, Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran. "His singular devotion to the Almighty and his deep love for the Blessed Virgin Mary resonate through our community, guiding us to live with purpose and unwavering faith."

AU reaffirms its dedication to Montfort's vision by cultivating a milieu where academic pursuit and spiritual wellbeing are in harmonious coexistence.
