The Life of St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort
- 1673 Born in Montfort-sur-Meu, Brittany, France (31 January)
- 1685 Educated at the Jesuit College in Rennes
- 1693 Studied for the priesthood at the Seminary of Saint-Sulpice, Paris
- 1700 Ordained a priest, officially for the diocese of Saint-Malo (5 June)
- 1700-01 Worked in Diocese of Nantes
- 1701-06 Diocese of Poitiers (Chaplain to "General Hospital", and later a Mission preacher)
- 1706 Pilgrimage to Rome to visit Pope Clement XI, 1706, who appointed him "Missionary Apostolic"
- 1706-08 Missions in the dioceses of Saint-Malo and Saint-Brieuc
- 1708-11 Missions in the diocese of Nantes
- 1711-16 Missions in the dioceses of Luçon, Saintes and (especially) La Rochelle
- 1716 Died at Saint-Laurent-Sur-Sèvre, in Vendée (28 April), aged 43
- 1888 Beatified by Pope Leo XIII
- 1947 Canonized by Pope Pius XII (20 July)

The Writings of St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort
Saint Louis Marie de Montfort wrote many things during his life. He wrote always with the one purpose: to bring Christians to a deeper understanding of the Christian faith, and to encourage them to live their Baptismal dedication to God. (Find more Montfort Publications in the AU Library)
His book on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” has been widely diffused in many languages, including English.

At Assumption University of Thailand
April 28 marks the Auspicious Saint Louis Marie de Montfort 's Day also referred to as the Feast Day of Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort which is highly recognized by Assumption University of Thailand (AU) as a Catholic University.
Assumption University' main chapel located at Suvarnabhumi Campus was indeed named after Saint Louis Marie de Montfort, popularly known as the “Chapel of St. Louis Marie de Montfort.” Furthermore, one of excellence awards recognizing AU outstanding personnel has been named “St. Montfort Award for Illustrious Service” and has the saint's statues exist at both campuses and also at the AU Learning Centre Chalermphrakiat, Kanchanaburi province.

The first holy mass performed in the Chapel of St. Louis Marie de Montfort was conducted on 28th April 2003 chaired by Father Chalerm Kitmongkolwong. It was well attended by Brothers of St. Gabriel, administrators, faculty members, staff, teachers from St. Gabriel network schools, honored guests, and students.

St. Montfort Award
For Illustrious Service
The St. Montfort Award for Illustrious Service was named after St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort (1673-1716), the founder of the Brothers of St. Gabriel. He is our spiritual master who walked before us toward the Living God. Following in his footprints, we can proceed on a path to union with God. The Brothers of St. Gabriel in Thailand consider him to be a model for religious life and for their educative mission.
This award is given for faithful, dedicated and outstanding services rendered to the University by senior administrators whose career spans more than twenty-five years.
The following was the first group of two senior administrators who were granted with “The St. Montfort Award” on December 24, 1997 at the Chapel of the Annunciation, Hua Mak Campus
