Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sureepong has worked at Assumption University since 1998. Currently, he is serving as the Dean of the Theodore Maria School of Arts. He earned his first degree in Business English, a Master’s in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Central Missouri, U.S.A., and a doctoral degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the University of Exeter, U.K. His current academic engagement includes teaching English for academic and specific purposes to undergraduate and graduate students, undertaking specialized and language teaching research, writing for publications, and incessantly rendering himself useful in public service provision to society and communities of English language education in Thailand.

He has keen interests in academic writings related to English language teaching and learning. He has been publishing academic articles in national and international refereed journals and has also enjoyed writing textbooks on English for Academic and Specific Purposes. In addition, he has frequently contributed to writing book chapters in several well-acknowledged co-authored texts.

Other than his passion and steadfastness for scholarly writing, he has served as a journal reviewer of numerous top-tier journals in the field of social sciences and English Language Teaching. He also finds presenting academic work at conferences and forums a challenge and strategy to improve and sharpen his writing skills. Having been a member of academic and research committees for years, both inside and outside AU, he sees this as an excellent opportunity to provide academic services to the AU community and society.

As a teacher-researcher, he has so far published quality manuscripts, textbooks, and book chapters, and engaged in presentations at national and international conferences on diverse topics, recently revolving around language teacher education and professional development.
