In a remarkable display of eloquence and skill, students from Thomas Aquinas School of Law at Assumption University secured top honors at the prestigious English Speech Contest, leaving an indelible mark on the competition. The event, held on August 7, by the Lawyers Council under the Royal Patronage, on the occasion of Rapee Day 2023, showcased the exceptional speaking abilities of participants from various higher educational institutions nationwide, making it a platform for intellectual exchange and intercollegiate camaraderie.

Standing out among the pool of talented speakers, two students from the School of Law, Assumption University, clinched both the first and third prizes, solidifying their reputation as adept communicators and promising legal scholars. The triumphant duo not only impressed the distinguished panel of judges but also captivated the audience with their articulate delivery and profound insights.

Miss Laksamon Wiboonluksanakul, a junior-year law student, emerged as the victor, seizing the coveted first prize. With a commanding presence on stage, she expertly navigated through her speech with topics "The Roles of New Era Lawyers in Providing Justice for All", and "Pro Bono Lawyer and Access to Criminal Justice for All", eloquently addressing a pertinent legal issue while weaving in societal implications. Her impeccable delivery, coupled with a thorough grasp of legal nuances, left an unforgettable mark on both judges and peers alike.

Mr. Jaturapit Boonpratuchai, also from the School of Law at Assumption University, showcased his exceptional oratory prowess on the same topics by securing the third prize. His insightful and thought-provoking speech not only showcased his deep understanding of legal intricacies but also highlighted his passion for addressing contemporary legal challenges.

In addition, on the same occasion of Rapee Day 2023, on August 5, 2023, the Faculty of Law, Ramkhamhaeng University, also organized a Speech Contest under the topic “Challenges of Law Students in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” at Ramkhamhaeng University. In a display of outstanding oratory skills and determination, a representative from Thomas Aquinas School of Law at Assumption University secured an impressive “7th rank” in the fiercely competitive speech competition among more than 30 contestants from all around the country. The event, renowned for its rigorous evaluation criteria and participation from esteemed institutions, showcased the exceptional talents of speakers from various disciplines, highlighting the diversity and depth of their perspectives.

Mr. Wasitpol Absuwan, a dedicated 3rd-year law student and eloquent speaker, represented Assumption University's Law School with remarkable finesse at the Ramkhamhaeng University speech competition. His achievement is a testament to his dedication to the art of public speaking and his commitment to his legal studies. His ability to convey complex ideas with clarity and poise showcases the deep understanding he possesses not only of legal matters but also of the broader societal implications they entail.
