Graduate Students Began Their AU Journey with Purpose

Graduate students began their AU journey with guidance, connection, and a clear sense of academic direction.

The Graduate School of Human Sciences at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) held its Semester 1/2026 Orientation on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Seminar Room, Hua Mak Campus. The morning program welcomed new graduate students and introduced them to the faculty members, program directors, and academic pathways that would support their studies.

A Warm Welcome to Graduate Learning

The orientation opened with registration, followed by opening remarks and general information delivered by Dr. Satha Phongsatha, Dean of the Graduate School of Human Sciences.

This welcome helped set the tone for a morning focused on clarity, belonging, and academic readiness. For new master’s and doctoral students, the session offered more than program information. It marked the beginning of a graduate journey shaped by inquiry, professional growth, and close faculty guidance.

Meeting the People Behind the Programs

A key part of the orientation introduced students to the school’s program directors and faculty members. The session reflected the strength and range of the Graduate School of Human Sciences, which brings together advanced study in education, curriculum and instruction, counseling psychology, philosophy and religion, English language teaching, arts and design, and graduate diploma pathways.

A Picture of a New Beginning

Following the introductions, students and faculty gathered for a group photo, capturing a meaningful first moment in the Semester 1/2026 graduate experience.

The image marked the start of a shared academic chapter for students who entered AU with different professional backgrounds, goals, and aspirations, but with a common commitment to learning and personal development.

Finding Their Academic Home

The orientation concluded with program meetings, where students joined sessions related to their specific fields of study. These included M.A. English Language Teaching, M.Ed. and Ph.D. Educational Administration and Leadership, M.Ed. Curriculum and Instruction, M.S. and Ph.D. Counseling Psychology, and the Graduate Diploma program.

These smaller meetings gave students the opportunity to better understand program expectations, meet faculty in a more focused setting, and begin building connections with classmates in their academic areas.

A Confident Start to Semester 1/2026

The Graduate School of Human Sciences orientation helped new students begin the semester with confidence, direction, and a stronger connection to the AU academic community.

By bringing together faculty leadership, program guidance, and student connection in one morning, the school offered new graduate students a thoughtful first step into a learning journey grounded in human development, professional excellence, and meaningful academic engagement.
