AU’s Theophane Venard School of Food Biotechnology and Innovation welcomed Thai Future Food Trade Association President Dr. Visit Limlurcha for a special guest lecture on biotechnology and the next generation of food.
Assumption University of Thailand’s Theophane Venard School of Food Biotechnology and Innovation hosted a special guest lecture titled “Future Food Revolution: Biotechnology Shaping the Next Generation of Food” on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Hua Mak Campus.
The session featured Dr. Visit Limlurcha, President of The Thai Future Food Trade Association, who shared industry insights on how biotechnology is reshaping food production, ingredients, nutrition, sustainability, and business opportunities in Thailand and beyond.
Designed for students enrolled in BT2012 Introduction to Food Biotechnology and FT4144 Food Ingredients and Functionality, the lecture connected classroom learning with real-world industry trends. Students explored how advances in food biotechnology are driving innovation in alternative proteins, functional ingredients, food safety, nutrition, and future-ready product development.
The event reflected AU’s commitment to preparing students for fast-changing careers in science, food innovation, health, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. As global demand grows for safer, smarter, and more sustainable food systems, students were encouraged to think beyond traditional food production and imagine the role they can play in shaping what the world eats next.
By bringing leading industry voices into the classroom, the Theophane Venard School of Food Biotechnology and Innovation continued to strengthen its mission of linking academic excellence with practical knowledge, professional networks, and future-focused opportunities for AU students.
