Some promises mark a moment. Others shape an entire life.
Five Brothers of Saint Gabriel made that lifelong commitment on August 15, 2026, as they professed their Perpetual Vows during a solemn Eucharistic celebration at Assumption University of Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi Campus.
Archbishop Francis Xavier Vira Arpondratana, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Bangkok, presided over the ceremony at Saint Louis Marie de Montfort Chapel. Fellow Brothers, family members, educators, students, alumni and friends gathered to witness a sacred milestone years in the making.
Brother Gabriel Patcharapakorn Langbubpha, f.s.g.; Brother Paul Pathanant Chaiyara, f.s.g.; Brother Michael Natton Suphon, f.s.g.; Brother Paul Krissada Ngamwong, f.s.g.; and Brother Camillus Panuwat Mouentup, f.s.g., each made a permanent commitment to God, the Church, their religious community and the Montfortian mission.
Their vows were not simply part of a ceremony. They formed a public and lifelong “yes”—one that would be lived through prayer, community, education and service to young people.
Five Brothers, One Mission
The five Brothers first professed vows on February 19, 2019. Their Profession of Perpetual Vows deepened a commitment already visible through years of study, formation and service.
Born in Bangkok, Brother Gabriel Patcharapakorn Langbubpha, f.s.g., serves at Assumption College as a member and local bursar. His wider responsibilities included work supporting education and quality assurance within the Province.
Brother Paul Pathanant Chaiyara, f.s.g., from Sakon Nakhon, serves through the Gabrielite Provincial Center. His work includes provincial administration and responsibilities connected with the Administrative Office and human resources.
Born in Ubon Ratchathani, Brother Michael Natton Suphon, f.s.g., serves at Assumption College English Program, Rama II Campus, as a member and local bursar. His ministry reflects the Gabrielite mission within a modern, international learning environment.
Brother Paul Krissada Ngamwong, f.s.g., from Amnat Charoen, serves at Assumption College Sriracha. His responsibilities extend across education, information technology and public relations.
Born in Bangkok, Brother Camillus Panuwat Mouentup, f.s.g., serves at Assumption College Samut Prakan as a member, manager and local bursar. His work includes leadership, administration and campus ministry.
All five also pursued Master of Education studies in Curriculum and Instruction at Assumption University, connecting their religious formation with the practical work of teaching and educational leadership.
A Promise Lived in Ordinary Days
Perpetual vows did not remove the Brothers from ordinary life. Their promise would be lived within it.
It would be found in classrooms, chapels, school offices and staff meetings. It would appear in lessons prepared, decisions made, communities supported and moments when a young person needed guidance, patience or someone willing to listen.
The Rule of Life of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel calls each Brother to follow Christ more closely and to be ready “to go anywhere, suffer anything, with Him and for Him.”
Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort expressed the mission more directly:
“Be apostles, worthy of the name; go out and preach with the strength and light of the Holy Spirit.”
For the five Brothers, those words now carried the weight of a lifelong promise.
Carrying a 125-Year Mission Forward
The celebration held added meaning during the 125th anniversary of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel’s educational mission in Thailand.
Since the first Brothers arrived in Siam in 1901, their work has helped shape generations through schools and institutions grounded in academic formation, discipline, faith, character and service.
That history was built not only through major institutions or public ceremonies. It was built through the steady formation of young people, one school year and one student at a time.
The Profession of Perpetual Vows was therefore both deeply personal and larger than any one individual. Each Brother offered his own life, but every vow strengthened a shared mission that has served students, families and communities for generations.
A Lifelong Yes
For Brother Gabriel, Brother Paul Pathanant, Brother Michael, Brother Paul Krissada and Brother Camillus, the ceremony marked both a destination and a beginning.
Years of preparation reached their fulfilment inside Saint Louis Marie de Montfort Chapel. Yet the promise itself would continue to unfold through the quiet rhythm of religious life—prayer, fraternity, study, responsibility and care for the young.
Their “yes” was spoken once before God and their community. It would now be lived every day.
A luncheon followed the Eucharistic celebration, allowing the community to share its congratulations and gratitude with the five Brothers and those who had accompanied them on their journey.
Assumption University was honoured to host the sacred occasion and joined the Brothers of Saint Gabriel, Province of Thailand, in congratulating the five Brothers on their Profession of Perpetual Vows.
