Assumption University of Thailand (AU) celebrated the talent, leadership and service of its students at the 16th Albert Prize Awards Ceremony on September 10, 2026, at the John XXIII Conference Center, Suvarnabhumi Campus.
Organized by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the annual ceremony placed student achievement firmly in the spotlight, honoring young people whose ideas, initiative, creativity, service and competitive success have strengthened university life and carried the AU name beyond campus.
Student Excellence Takes Center Stage
Naphat Na Lamphoon | Student Leader of the Year. Theodore Maria School of Arts. With a 3.79 GPA, he led the school’s Student Council, helped deliver Arts Speak Up! 2026 and Blossom in Cultures 2025: When East Meets West, and was elected President of the Assumption University Student Organization in 2026.
Suwichada Phiriyasathit | Student of the Year. Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics. She paired a 3.87 GPA with first-place finishes among 336 teams in the CA-ASE Case Competition and among 158 teams in the Impvest Policy Hackathon. She was also selected for the 2027 CFA Institute Research Challenge and mentors fellow students through the AU Business Playground Club.
Student Ideas with Real Impact
Arts Speak Up! 2026 | Project of the Year. Organized by the Student Council of the Theodore Maria School of Arts, the project also earned Best Project honors for Innovation and Academic Promotion and for Environment and Social Development Promotion. Students created a bilingual handbook and interactive workshops to strengthen workplace English for AU housekeeping and security personnel.
Blossom in Cultures 2025: When East Meets West | Best Project for Multicultural Engagement and Internationalization Promotion. The student-led initiative used arts, crafts, performances, food, workshops and cultural activities to give students from different nationalities a platform to learn from one another and build stronger intercultural connections.
Living Impact: Experiencing Sustainable Development Goals Through Thai Culture | Best Project for Thai Art and Culture Promotion. Organized by AIESEC, the six-day immersion connected Thai language, cuisine, craftsmanship, traditional games and community experiences with active cultural learning.
Creativity, Culture and Community
Assumption University Myanmar Students’ Club | Event and Show of the Year. Home Away From Home: Myanmar to ABAC won Event of the Year for its imaginative “12 Months of Myanmar” concept. A Journey Through Time, A Feeling of Home won Show of the Year for using fashion, music and performance to trace more than a century of Myanmar style while celebrating heritage and belonging.
Thai Classical Dance and Music Club | Student Activity Unit of the Year. The club gained national visibility through Montra Kinnaree at the 24th Higher Education Art and Culture Festival, trained 27 new performers and introduced a Train the Trainers approach to strengthen continuity and knowledge sharing.
Cathariya Tangsawapark | MC of the Year. Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics. Her confident communication, flexibility and experience across events including TEDxAssumption University and major AU ceremonies distinguished her as a strong student ambassador.
Academic Talent Competes and Wins
LIANG Team | Academic Contest Honorary Award, Silver Tier. Students from the Theophane Venard School of Food Biotechnology and Innovation developed a safe, nutritious and shelf-stable snack from underutilized Melinjo leaves. The project advanced in Startup Thailand League 2026, was selected among 43 teams from 138 entries in the Regional Pitching round and received THB 25,000 from the National Innovation Agency.
Tanatchaporn Chiraboworn | Academic Contest Honorary Award, Silver Tier. Theodore Maria School of Arts. Her achievements in entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability included UniTrash, a Green Tech startup connecting households with recycling businesses.
Suwichada Phiriyasathit | Academic Contest Honorary Award, Gold Tier. Her national business and finance competition record added another major honor to her Student of the Year recognition.
AU Student-Athletes Raise the Bar
Panachai Jaijulla | Sport Player Honorary Award, Silver Tier. Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics. He won gold in the Hapkido Men’s Under 70 kg category at the 51st Thailand University Games, the Inthanin Games.
Natchapapar Thananikkun | Sport Player Honorary Award, Gold Tier. Theodore Maria School of Arts. Her diving achievements included sixth place at the 33rd SEA Games 2025 and strong results at regional aquatics championships.
Pusita Purahong | Sport Player Honorary Award, Gold Tier. Theodore Maria School of Arts. She won two gold medals and the Outstanding Female Athlete Award at the 51st University Games of Thailand.
Assumption University Golf Team | Honorary Award, Gold Tier, Sport Team. The team won the Women’s Team title and finished First Runner-Up in the Men’s Team competition at the Inthanin Games, while also recording winner and runner-up finishes at the Chang Golf U Champion Cup 2025 Tournament.
Leadership Through Service
Munin Saengsinsub | Merit Award for President of the Assumption University Student Organization. Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics. Her leadership of AUSO was recognized for vision, responsibility, teamwork and her ability to unite student activity units around meaningful initiatives and student development.
Komkrit Mitsamant | Outstanding Volunteer Award. Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science and Technology. He documented more than 15 major university events as a staff photographer during 2025–2026 while also volunteering in university and golf activities.
Kotchaporn Kamonkasemsunti | Outstanding Volunteer Award. Theodore Maria School of Arts. She was honored for generous service as a master of ceremonies and event host across student clubs, faculties and major university ceremonies, as well as contributions to AU public image campaigns.

Sixteen Years of Celebrating Excellence
Now in its 16th year, the Albert Prize has become an important Assumption University tradition for recognizing achievement across academics, leadership, arts and culture, internationalization, community service, sports and innovation. The prize takes its name from “Albert,” the Christian name of Rector Magnificus Rev. Bro. Bancha Saenghiran, f.s.g., Ph.D., reflecting a long-standing commitment to encouraging excellence in every dimension of student life.
More than a list of awards, the 2026 recipients offered a clear picture of what AU students can achieve when knowledge is matched with initiative, discipline and a willingness to serve others. Their accomplishments brought pride to Assumption University while setting an example for the students who will follow.
