The first cohort of 70 students enrolled in October 2012 and graduated in 2016. The second cohort of 25 enrolled in 2016 and most of them completed by 2020 except for Valdivio. Of the following students two cohorts the attrition rate is about 5 percent. The highlights are Angelino and four of this batchmates are pilots, Julio is an established architect. One of the graduates is in the US on a Master degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Several are in international embassies in Dili. Of the Master degree students you are the most recent graduate from Our MBA program. We have had a few from the Graduate School of Himan Sciences including Paulino Roberio with a Masters in Education. Ambassador Joao De Camara holds an MMOD degree, so does Elisa. Tatia is the only one who did not complete her Master degree as she was recalled to Forign Ministry service. His Eminent Excellency President Noble Laureate Jose Ramos Horta was bestowed a Doctor Honoris Causa in International Law in 2013 and Nobel Laureate His Grace Filipe Ximenes Belo delivered a Keynote address to the University in December 2005.
Assumption University advised Rev. Fr. Philomena Jacob in the setting up of the John Paul II Catholic University in Dili. The statue of Saint John Paul II at the University is a replica of the original at the Assumption University Suvarnabhumi campus fabricated by Armando Bronze Factory, Chonburi Thailand as referred by Assumption University.
There have been several visits by Timorese delegations, the latest being Mr. Baptista Dasilva and Mr. Armindo Simoes. Ad of December 2024, having negotiated and agreed upon with the Timorese Ministry of Human Capital Development we are hosting the studies of 9 scholars aspiring to return to serve in the Timorese Tourism Ministry with degrees in MBA Toutisn Management. These scholars are expected to graduate by August 2026.
