A little Halloween spirit, new friendships and a warm AU welcome set the scene for Assumption University of Thailand’s Freshmen Seminar 2/2026, held at Dusit Thani Pattaya on 31 October and 1 November 2026.
Organized by the Office of Graduate Studies, the two-day gathering brought together incoming graduate students from three academic schools:
Graduate School of Business and Advanced Technology Management (GS-BATM)
Graduate School of Human Sciences (GS-HS)
Vincent Mary School of Engineering, Science and Technology (VMES)
The seminar offered students an opportunity to get acquainted, meet fellow graduate students and begin building connections that will continue throughout their academic journeys at AU.
The first day began with a welcome address by Rev. Bro. Dr. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of Assumption University, setting an encouraging tone for the new academic chapter ahead. A Halloween-themed lunch added a playful touch to the occasion, bringing a little seasonal fun to the gathering.
The programme continued in the evening with a traditional Bai Sri welcome ceremony, a meaningful Thai cultural tradition symbolizing good wishes and blessings. Following dinner, students took to the stage for a series of lively performances, creating an evening filled with laughter, entertainment and opportunities to connect.
The second day offered a more relaxed pace, allowing students to enjoy the seaside atmosphere of Pattaya, spend time with their new friends and reflect on a memorable weekend before returning to Bangkok.
More than an orientation, Freshmen Seminar 2/2026 provided an opportunity to bring together students from different academic disciplines and backgrounds, helping them feel part of a wider university community from the very beginning.
As these new graduate students embark on their studies, they do so with new friendships, shared experiences and a warm welcome to the Assumption University family.
New beginnings, lasting friendships and just the right amount of Halloween magic. Welcome to AU!
