From tug-of-war to sack races, the 6th Suvarnabhumi Campus Staff Relations Sports Day brought colleagues together for friendly competition, laughter and a celebration of the people who keep AU running.
Tug-of-war, sack races and plenty of laughter brought Assumption University’s staff together for a day when teamwork took on a whole new meaning.
On Thursday, October 22, 2026, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) hosted the 6th Suvarnabhumi Campus Operational Staff Relations Sports Day at the John Paul II Sports Center Gymnasium, transforming the familiar sporting venue into a lively celebration of friendship, fitness and campus community.
Organized by the Center for Sports and Physical Fitness (CSPF), Student Affairs Division, the event welcomed personnel from across the University and its service partners, giving colleagues an opportunity to step away from their daily responsibilities, enjoy some friendly competition and strengthen relationships beyond the workplace.
The occasion was honored by the presence of Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of Assumption University, together with Rev. Bro. Channarong Boonphram, Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, and Mr. Saharath Dowpiset, Director of the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs.
Mr. Kasikrid Muntasut, Director of the Center for Sports and Physical Fitness, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting the importance of building unity among personnel from different departments. He emphasized the value of physical activity, relaxation and opportunities for colleagues to get to know one another in an informal, enjoyable setting.
Ready, Set, Laugh!
The day’s lineup offered something for everyone, with tug-of-war, sack racing, mini-goal football shooting and the wonderfully named “mother hen laying eggs” game.
The activities brought plenty of cheers, laughter and good-natured competition, proving that teamwork could be just as important on the gymnasium floor as it was in the office.
And while the games provided plenty of entertainment, the real purpose extended far beyond winning or losing. Colleagues who ordinarily worked in different departments had the chance to connect, encourage one another and strengthen the friendships that make AU a welcoming place to work.
Celebrating the People Behind the Campus
Among those joining the festivities were personnel from G4S Secure Solutions (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Advance Group Asia Co., Ltd., the Buildings and Grounds Department, and other Assumption University staff.
Their participation highlighted an important part of university life: the contributions of the many dedicated people who work behind the scenes to keep AU’s campuses safe, welcoming and running smoothly every day.
From maintaining facilities and supporting daily operations to looking after the wider campus community, these teams play an essential role in the University’s success.
The sixth edition of Staff Relations Sports Day gave those contributions a different kind of spotlight, celebrating not only individual effort but also the cooperation and mutual respect that connect departments and service partners.
At the end of the day, the biggest achievement was not a trophy or a winning score. It was the opportunity to build stronger relationships, share some laughter and return to work with a renewed sense of belonging.
At AU, a strong team doesn’t just work together. It plays together, too.
