Music did what music does best at Siam Square. It cut through the noise, softened the room, and gave people permission to feel something.
On May 30, 2026, Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s ABAC School of Music joined AIS Siam for Mind Month: Music & Mindfulness, bringing together young artists, music lovers, mental health advocates, and the Siam Square crowd for a day built around one simple idea: sometimes the heart needs a sound check too.
Held under the theme “Sound Check: เช็กใจผ่านเสียงเพลง ให้เสียงดนตรี ทำหน้าที่ดูแลหัวใจ,” the event explored how music could help people pause, breathe, listen inward, and talk more openly about emotional well-being.
In English, the Thai theme means “checking in with the heart through music, allowing music to take care of the heart.”
Melody Therapy Set the Tone
The afternoon opened with “Melody Therapy,” a workshop that used music as a gentle doorway into mindfulness and self-reflection. From 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., participants were invited to slow down, listen closely, and reconnect with themselves through sound.
It was not a lecture. It was not a clinical session. It was music doing the quiet work: easing tension, opening space, and reminding people that taking care of the mind does not always have to begin with big words. Sometimes it starts with a melody.
Yes’sir Days Brought the Honesty
From 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Thai band Yes’sir Days took the conversation in a more personal direction with “Yes’sir, I’m OK!”, an exclusive talk on mental health, music, and the kind of emotional check-ins young people often need but rarely say out loud.
The session gave fans and participants a closer look at how artists navigate pressure, emotion, creativity, and care. It was casual, honest, and grounded in the language people already understand: songs, stories, and the courage to admit that “I’m OK” sometimes needs a little help behind it.
The program was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pannawit Sanitnarathorn, Dean of the Louis Nobiron School of Music, Assumption University of Thailand (AU), together with the spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Vorat Chotipitayasunon,.
ABAC Music & Friends Took It to the Street
By early evening, the mood shifted from workshop to stage as ABAC Music & Friends brought a free mini concert to Siam Square Walking Street from 5:00 p.m. onward.
Performers Wee, Nine, Nene, Mymu, Kaofrang, Peak, Earn, Prem, Third, and Simone helped turn the space into something warmer than a concert and livelier than a campaign booth. It became a meeting point for music, friendship, and youth expression.
The event showed the ABAC School of Music doing what a modern music school should do: not only training performers, but also using music as a force for connection, confidence, and care.
For one afternoon in the middle of Bangkok’s busiest youth district, music was not background noise. It was the message.
