Jade Strikes Gold: ABAC Guitarist Turns Classical Precision into a Winning Performance

Pakawat Thamrongananskul did not just play the notes. He owned the moment. Mr. Pakawat Thamrongananskul, known as Jade, a third-year student in the BA in Music Entrepreneurship Program at the ABAC School of Music, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) won the Gold Award in the Classical Guitar Open Category at the International European Music Competition – Thailand Preliminary, on March 1, 2026.

For a young musician, moments like this matter. They signal more than technical ability. They reveal discipline, nerve, style, and the kind of artistic command that can cut through a crowded field. In Jade’s case, that combination helped carry him to Gold on a respected international competition platform.

Jade studies classical guitar under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Jacopo Gianninoto, whose mentorship has helped students push their performance standards to a higher level. That guidance, matched with Jade’s own commitment to the craft, shaped an achievement that reflects both individual talent and serious musical training.

The International European Music Competition (IEMC) is recognized as a prestigious global platform for emerging musicians, giving performers the chance to showcase their artistry, passion, and skill before an international-facing audience. For many young artists, it is a place where promise meets pressure and preparation meets the spotlight.

At the ABAC School of Music, that spotlight is not something students are taught to fear. It is something they are trained to step into. Jade’s Gold Award reflected the School’s continuing commitment to developing musicians who are not only technically strong, but also ready to perform, compete, and grow in an industry that rewards both excellence and identity.

This win was more than a proud personal milestone. It was another strong note in the rising sound of ABAC’s music community. AU and The School of Music warmly congratulated Mr. Pakawat Thamrongananskul on this remarkable accomplishment and wished him continued success in the next movement of his musical journey.
