Pongsak Viddayakorn Foundation and PRINC Group Partner with AU to Launch ‘School of Medicine,’ Aiming to Elevate Thai Healthcare to International Standards

February 9, 2026, Samut Prakan – The Pongsak Viddayakorn Foundation and Principal Healthcare Group (PRINC Group) have announced a major academic collaboration with Assumption University of Thailand (AU), through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a School of Medicine. The initiative aims to produce high-caliber medical personnel for both national and international healthcare systems.

The signing ceremony was held at the St. Luke School of Medicine building at  Suvarnabhumi Campus. The event was attended by senior leadership from all parties, including Dr. Satit Viddayakorn, Chairman of the Pongsak Viddayakorn Foundation; Ms. Tanatorn Viddayakorn, Foundation Executive; and Dr. Wityavate Rakkulchon, M.D., Co-CEO of Principal Capital Plc. (PRINC Group). Representing Assumption University of Thailand were Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President; Asst. Prof. Dr. Uree Cheasakul, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Prof. Dr. Suwat Benjaponpital,  Dean  of the School of Medicine.

Dr. Satit Viddayakorn stated, “This collaboration aligns with our foundation’s mission of ‘Giving for the Common Good.’ Shaping a new generation of doctors who meet global demands is more than just educational development—it is a vital mechanism to expand access to high-standard healthcare for all citizens.”

Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka emphasized the university’s mission to produce “Global Doctors.” He noted that the curriculum is designed to produce physicians who possess not only world-class technical expertise but also the moral integrity and spirit of service required to benefit society, staying true to the university’s pillars of academic excellence and ethics.

The partnership will focus heavily on academic support and clinical training. Dr. Wityavate Rakkulchon highlighted that the International Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program will integrate clinical excellence with medical ethics and international communication skills.

“Our goal is to prepare medical students for leadership roles in the digital health era,” said Dr. Wityavate. “By fostering these skills, we are building a sustainable and resilient healthcare foundation for Thailand.”
