Celebrating 50 Years of Diplomatic Relations with Cross-Cultural Artistic Dialogue
Hebei, China — October 13, 2025 — The “Resonance—2025 China-Thailand Artists International Exchange Exhibition: China Show” officially opened at the Wenfeng Pagoda Art Museum of Hebei Academy of Fine Arts. This landmark exhibition brings together leading artists from China and Thailand, showcasing works that span painting, sculpture, installation, and video — creating a dynamic dialogue between the two countries’ contemporary art scenes.
Co-organized by Assumption University of Thailand (AU) and Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, with curation by Sichuan Yingmeng Cultural Communication Co., Ltd, the exhibition brings together the artistic excellence of both nations to highlight art’s power as a universal language and cultural bridge.
A Cultural Milestone
Launched on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, the exhibition was initiated by Yingmeng Art Institution and co-hosted by Hebei Academy of Fine Arts and Assumption University of Thailand. It is co-organized with ten prestigious institutions, including the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, China Academy of Art, Chulalongkorn University, Chiang Mai University, Srinakharinwirot University, Silpakorn University, and others.
The exhibition aims to use visual art as a bridge to deepen cultural and academic exchange under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the diplomatic vision of “China–Thailand Fraternity”.
Distinguished Guests and Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony was graced by university leaders, distinguished professors, and young artists from both countries. Among the key attendees were:
- Prof. Zhen Zhongyi, Founder and President, Hebei Academy of Fine Arts
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Kitti Phothikitti, Vice President for Educational Innovation and Graduate Studies, Assumption University of Thailand
- Dr. Apichart Intravisit, Thai Dean of the Graduate School of Fine and Applied Arts, Assumption University of Thailand
- Senior representatives from CAFA, Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Chulalongkorn University, and AU’s Thai–Sino International College
During his remarks, Dr. Apichart Intravisit emphasized the power of art to transcend boundaries and foster cultural understanding: “Art is more than a medium of expression, it is a language of understanding. This exhibition embodies the spirit of creativity and collaboration that connects us beyond borders”.
Renowned for his visionary leadership in arts education and his efforts to connect Thai artists with the global art community, Dr. Apichart’s presence underscored the growing role of Thai universities in shaping international cultural dialogues.
Prof. Zhang Jianmin highlighted that the exhibition reflects “a profound dialogue and mutual cultural learning between China and Thailand in the field of visual arts.”
Asst. Prof. Dr. Kitti Phothikitti added that the platform “strengthens institutional collaboration and fosters creativity among young artists from both nations.”
Academic and Artistic Exchange
Curator Mr. Zhou Haifu emphasized that “Resonance” achieves cross-media and cross-cultural artistic conversations, sparking intellectual collisions and emotional connections.
During the opening, Assumption University of Thailand held a graduate supervisor appointment ceremony, officially recognizing several Hebei Academy faculty as doctoral and master’s advisors — a powerful symbol of sustained academic exchange. A gift exchange ceremony followed, further cementing institutional partnerships.
A Shared Vision for the Future
Hebei Academy of Fine Arts expressed its commitment to using the exhibition as a catalyst for long-term collaboration, academic innovation, and cultural exchange between Chinese and Thai institutions. The event not only offers a rich artistic experience but also builds new pathways for young talent development in both countries.
