Assumption University of Thailand (AU) commemorated the Anniversary of the Chapel of St. Louis Marie de Montfort with a deeply moving celebration held on Monday, April 28, 2025, at its Suvarnabhumi Campus. The event honored the spiritual legacy of St. Louis Marie de Montfort, whose motto, “God Alone,” continues to illuminate AU’s Montfortian mission and identity.

The solemn occasion began with the arrival of H.E. Archbishop Francis Xavier Vira Arpondratana, Archbishop of Bangkok Archdiocese who presided over an English-language Holy Mass in the chapel that bears the saint’s name. The homily reflected on St. Louis’s profound devotion to the Virgin Mary and his unwavering faith in divine providence—a message that resonated deeply with the gathered congregation of administrators, faculty, staff, students, and invited guests.

The Chapel, a cornerstone of spiritual life on campus, was filled with reverence, music, and a renewed sense of community as the AU family came together in prayer and celebration. The service was followed by a gracious luncheon at the John XXIII Conference Center, where conversations and connections continued in a spirit of unity and reflection.
Organized by the Office of the President, the celebration offered more than a liturgical tribute—it was a reaffirmation of AU’s Catholic foundation and the enduring influence of the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, whose vision laid the groundwork for the university’s growth and purpose. Founded by the Brothers, Assumption University stands as a testament to their commitment to holistic education rooted in faith, knowledge, and service. Since their arrival in Thailand in the early 20th century, the Brothers of St. Gabriel have played a pioneering role in shaping the nation’s educational landscape, establishing a tradition of excellence that continues to thrive at AU today.
As the community honored the life and teachings of its patron saint, the event served as a powerful reminder of the values that unite us: faith, humility, and a shared commitment to truth and service. With “God Alone” as our guide, AU continues its journey with gratitude and grace, ever inspired by the spirit of St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort and the enduring mission of the Brothers of St. Gabriel.
