Type AU Positive: Nursing Science and Red Cross Unite to Save Lives

WRITER : THE AU LIBRARY

On August 29, 2025, the Bernadette de Lourdes School of Nursing Science, together with the Thai Red Cross Society, transformed the MSM Building at Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s Suvarnabhumi Campus into a hub of compassion and care.

Students, faculty, and staff rolled up their sleeves—literally—for a cause greater than themselves. Each drop of blood collected is destined to help replenish hospital supplies and support patients across Thailand. The strong turnout reflected not only the generosity of the AU community but also the leadership of the School of Nursing Science in championing public health and service.

For the nursing students, the event was more than an academic exercise. It was a chance to put their values into practice, demonstrating that the essence of nursing lies not just in skill, but in empathy. By working hand-in-hand with the Thai Red Cross, they gained invaluable experience in organizing community health initiatives while inspiring peers to become active agents of change.

Once again, AU proved that education is not confined to classrooms—it extends to acts of service that ripple far beyond campus. The Blood Donation Drive stood as a vivid reminder of AU’s mission : to cultivate graduates who are not only knowledgeable but also compassionate citizens, ready to serve society with both head and heart.
