Last night, Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s Suvarnabhumi campus was alight with cultural vibrancy and elegance as it concluded its celebrated “AUISC The Night of Culture and Glamour”. The event, which brought together the diverse community of AU, featured an array of performances showcasing the rich tapestry of international arts and music.
The evening’s pinnacle was the Miss International Night Contest, a competition that saw participants donned in their splendid traditional attire, reflecting the global mosaic that is the student body at Assumption University.
The contest, which unfolded in three rounds, highlighted the poise, cultural understanding, and grace of the participants. The first round had contestants presenting in student uniforms, embodying the spirit of academia and unity. The second round celebrated the diverse heritage of the students, with breathtaking national costumes from around the world taking center stage.
In the final round, the competition culminated with participants answering questions that demonstrated their intelligence, wit, and cultural awareness. The judges deliberated and selected the top five finalists before crowning the winner of the Miss International Night Contest for 2024. With students from various faculties and national backgrounds, the contest was a testament to the multicultural tapestry that AU prides itself on.
The night saw Ms. Pimchanok Chaiwong from Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts (CA), representing Thailand, clinch the coveted title of Miss International Night. Her charm, intelligence, and grace shone brightly, earning her the top spot amongst a bevy of talented contestants.
The first runner-up was Ms. Nang Yae Seng Lao, representing the Shan State of Myanmar, from Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME). Her poise and cultural representation left a lasting impression on the audience and judges alike.
Ms. Polina Kravchenko, hailing from Ukraine and studying in Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME), secured the second runner-up position. Her performance was both heartwarming and powerful, reflecting the global spirit of the university.
The third runner-up honor went to Ms. May Sitt Thway of the Montfort del Rosario School of Architecture and Design (AR), showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Bamar of Myanmar. Her architectural precision translated beautifully into her stage presence.
Rounding out the top five was Ms. Eveline Naphakantharakon from Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME), representing the province of Chiang Rai, Thailand. Her unique flair added a vibrant hue to the event’s tapestry.
Assumption University congratulates all the participants who contributed to making the “AUISC Night of Culture and Glamour” a resounding success. The event once again affirmed the university’s commitment to celebrating diversity and fostering a spirit of global unity within its community.
The night also featured enthralling performances by the Thai Classical Dance and Music Group, the AU Myanmar Students Community, the AU Chinese Students Community, and talented African student performers. The event closed with a dynamic ensemble of dance and singing by solo artists and bands, followed by an award presentation ceremony, which recognized the generous sponsors and supporters of the night.
