Thomas Aquinas School of Law, Assumption University of Thailand (AU) held the “Wai Kru Ceremony and Freshmen Orientation 2023” on Saturday 24 June 2023, 09.00-12.00 hrs., at Auditorium Hall, Hua Mak Campus, to promote students’ gratitude towards their respectful lecturers, to enhance good relationships among students, lecturers, alumni, and parents, to preserve Thai art and culture to be last, and to provide essential guidance to freshmen to apply with their learning and living successfully and happily.


Approximately 120 participants engaged in the activity comprised of parents, freshmen, and other student representatives from various years, presented their meaningful flower trays, bouquets, and several kinds of flowers, conveying the meaning of their homage towards lecturers. The school’s lecturers led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sthianrapab Naluang, the Dean and Chairman of the ceremony, joined this event and prepared handmade gifts to give their students as the welcoming symbol for long last relationships.


During the Wai Kru ceremony, outstanding students, who have obtained achievements and made reputations to the school and the university, the student committee, and the ALSA AU committee for the academic year 2022, were given certificates of appreciation to praise and glorify their dedication, sacrifice, and performance from the dean.


For the Freshmen Orientation, the school obtained honor and amity by Dr. Chaichana Mitrpant, Director of Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, as the distinguished speaker, addressing a special lecture on “Roles of Law Students towards Country Development”, which covered significant contents such as the development of Thai economy and neighbors in past 50 years, AI threats and the response of lawyers, basic principles for being good lawyers, and top 10 skills from the World Economic Forum for law students in 2023.

In the last session, new boards of the student committee, and the Asian Law Students Association of Assumption University, presented their visions, missions, action plans, executive members and staff to the audience. Eventually, freshmen, parents, administrators, and lecturers had small groups of meetings and discussions to share their ideas, expectations, and demands to the school’s educational management with the active engagement of key stakeholders.

For 2-3 years of the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the first year that the Wai Kru Ceremony and Freshmen Orientation was a full-scale arrangement. It was well-planned, actively, and systematically organized by the Student Committee of Thomas Aquinas School of Law of the academic year 2023.

1. Miss Satita Phetsuwan (Jan)

  • Outstanding Children and Youth Awards who bring reputation to the country 2022 at the Teachers Council of Thailand auditorium, Ministry of Education.
  • National Outstanding Children and Youth and those who make benefits children and youth in arts and culture, communication, and careers to receive the honorary plaque and certificate on the occasion of the National Youth Day 2022.
  • Outstanding Youth Bangkok (Prakai Phet) 17th Annual Year 2022.
  • World runner-up in the World Competition of Vocalists and Instrumentalists ”Sonata of the Stars 2022” Autumn- Winter, Lithuania Which is held for the second time, with participants from more than 30 countries around the world, including Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Estonia, Serbia, Poland, Latvia, USA, Belgium, Russia, Thailand, etc. Thailand is the only country in Asia participating in this competition.
  • Awarded World Champion (1st place prize) in the Grand Final round. This Grand Final round is a round that selects 15 singers with the best voice from around the world and she is one of them and receives the world runner-up award.
  • The Golden Song Season 5
  • The fastest graduation of the Bachelor of Laws Program (3 years) with the first class of honor.

2. Mr. Atiwit Kornphom (Axe)

  • Gold Medal, Taekwondo, Hapkido Kyoruki Class A, “48th University Games” Dok Jan Ban Chiang Games at Udon Thani Rajabhat University. (was selected to train on behalf of the Thai national team to compete in the program world championship by 2024)
  • Gold Medal, Kyoruki Team, Taekwondo Opens at Terminal21 Korat, Nakhon Ratchasima.
  • Silver Medal, Kyoruki Class A, Taekwondo Opens at Terminal21 Korat, Nakhon Ratchasima.
  • etc.

3. Miss Wariton Sunthonwiwattanakran (Tonkhao)

  • The Winner, THAC Mediation Problems Contest 2022, hosted by Thailand Arbitration Center.
