Profession of Perpetual Vows

August 15, 10:00 - 14:00

Five Brothers of Saint Gabriel prepare for a lifelong vow of faith and service

For the Brothers of Saint Gabriel, education has never been only about classrooms. It has been about formation; of mind, heart, conscience, character, and faith.

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, five Brothers of Saint Gabriel will take one of the most important steps in religious life when they make their Profession of Perpetual Vows at Saint Louis Marie de Montfort Chapel, Assumption University of Thailand, Suvarnabhumi Campus. The five Brothers are Brother Gabriel Patcharapakorn Langbubpha, f.s.g.; Brother Paul Pathanant Chaiyara, f.s.g.; Brother Michael Natton Suphon, f.s.g.; Brother Paul Krissada Ngamwong, f.s.g.; and Brother Camillus Panuwat Mouentup, f.s.g..

Their vows are not simply a ceremony. They are a public and lifelong “yes” — to God, to the Church, to religious community, and to the Montfortian mission of educating and forming young people.

A sacred promise in the Montfortian tradition

The Profession of Perpetual Vows marks the moment when a Brother gives his life fully and permanently to God through the vows of religious life. In the Gabrielite tradition, that promise is lived through prayer, community, education, service, and the quiet daily work of accompanying young people.

The Rule of Life of the Brothers of Saint Gabriel describes religious profession as a commitment to follow Christ more closely and to associate oneself more intimately with His mission of salvation. It speaks of a Brother being ready “to go anywhere, suffer anything, with Him and for Him.”

“Be apostles, worthy of the name; go out and preach with the strength and light of the Holy Spirit.”
-Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort

That call gives this celebration its deeper meaning. The five Brothers are not stepping forward for themselves alone. They are stepping forward for a mission — to teach, to guide, to form, to serve, and to witness a life rooted in faith.

Five Brothers, one mission

Each of the five Brothers first professed vows on February 19, 2019, and now prepares to make that commitment perpetual.

His patron saint is St. Camillus, whose feast day is celebrated on July 14. He is a candidate for a Master of Education in Curriculum Instruction at Assumption University. His service includes school leadership, administration, and campus ministry — the kind of faithful, daily responsibility at the heart of Gabrielite life.

A mission shaped by Mary and Montfort

The Brothers of Saint Gabriel live within a spiritual tradition inspired by Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort, whose devotion to Jesus through Mary remains central to the Montfortian family.

“Mary is the safest, easiest, shortest and most perfect way of approaching Jesus.”
-Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort

This Marian devotion is not separate from the Brothers’ educational mission. It shapes how they serve: with humility, tenderness, patience, discipline, and courage. In the Gabrielite tradition, education is a work of faith; a way of helping young people discover wisdom, dignity, purpose, and the presence of God in their lives.

“It is through the Most Holy Virgin Mary that Jesus Christ came into the world, and it is also through her that he must reign in the world.”
-Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort

For the Brothers, this spirituality becomes visible not only in prayer, but in classrooms, chapels, offices, school grounds, and the countless unseen moments of service that form a life of religious dedication.

A 125-year story of education in Thailand

This year’s celebration carries special meaning as the Brothers of Saint Gabriel continue to mark 125 years of the mission on education in Thailand.

For more than a century, the Brothers have helped shape generations of students through schools and institutions known for discipline, academic formation, moral education, and service to society. Their work has become part of Thailand’s educational story — not through grand gestures alone, but through the steady formation of young people, year after year.

The Profession of Perpetual Vows is therefore both personal and communal. It is personal because each Brother offers his life to God. It is communal because every vow strengthens a mission that has served students, families, educators, alumni, and society for generations.

“The more a soul is consecrated to Mary, the more it is consecrated to Jesus.”
-Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort

A lifelong yes

In a fast-changing world, perpetual vows speak of something lasting: fidelity, humility, prayer, community, and service.

The five Brothers making their vows have already served in schools and ministries across the Gabrielite mission. Their next step is not a departure from that service, but a deepening of it. Their lives will continue to be shaped by the quiet rhythm of religious life: prayer, obedience, fraternity, study, responsibility, and care for the young.

At Saint Louis Marie de Montfort Chapel, their promise will be made before God, the Church, their fellow Brothers, families, colleagues, students, alumni, and friends. It will be a moment of thanksgiving — for their vocation, for the Brothers who formed them, for the schools and communities they serve, and for the mission that continues through them.
