Assumption University and India’s Parul University Open Doors to Research, Innovation and International Learning
Assumption University of Thailand (AU) has strengthened its academic ties with India through a new partnership with Parul University, a multidisciplinary institution recognized for its achievements in innovation, research and international education.
The two universities formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), laying the groundwork for student and faculty exchanges, collaborative research and joint educational initiatives that could bring new international learning opportunities to both institutions.
The agreement connects Assumption University’s international academic community with an Indian university that has established a strong reputation for academic excellence and innovation.
Located in Vadodara, Gujarat, Parul University holds the prestigious NAAC A++ accreditation, the highest grade awarded by India’s National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Its diverse academic community includes students from more than 75 countries, while its programs span medicine, engineering, management, pharmacy, law, design and other disciplines.
The university has also earned national recognition for innovation, reflecting its emphasis on connecting academic learning with research, entrepreneurship and practical applications.
A Partnership with Possibilities
The agreement was signed by Rev. Bro. Sirichai Fonseka, f.s.g., Ph.D., President of Assumption University, and Dr. Geetika Madan Patel, Vice President and Medical Director of Parul University.
The ceremony brought together deans and program directors from AU’s Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics (MSME), Graduate School of Business and Advanced Technology Management, and Graduate School of Human Sciences.
Following the signing, representatives from both institutions introduced their academic programs and explored areas of mutual interest, identifying possibilities for future cooperation across academic disciplines.
The range of expertise represented at the meeting offers promising opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly in business, technology, education and research.
Beyond the Signing Ceremony
For students, international academic partnerships can open doors to new cultures, different approaches to learning and valuable experiences beyond their home campuses. For faculty members, they create opportunities to exchange expertise, pursue collaborative research and develop fresh approaches to teaching.
Parul University’s strengths in health sciences, technology and innovation complement Assumption University’s internationally oriented approach to higher education, providing a foundation for academic cooperation between Thailand and India.
While specific exchange programs and joint projects remain to be developed, the agreement marks an encouraging step toward bringing the two academic communities closer together.
For Assumption University, the partnership reflects its continuing commitment to international engagement, academic excellence and preparing graduates to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
